Race up in american fork this morning. i was the first leg of the 5 person relay and I got to race with some fast kids including mcmillan from AF. My start was really crappy. everyone went out really fast and I thought to myself that it would be smart not to kill it, mcmillan was, afterall, behind me so I figured that i was ok. It probably wasnt the smartest move though. I used alot of valuable energy getting up to the front. I stuck up front for the first mile (5:04) but wasent ready for a move entering in the second mile and i got passed up by quite a few kids. I couldent really get moving fast enough again and got pased by another few kids throughout the mile. going in on mile 1.5 i really felt dead tired. i dont know why though! I should have easyly been able to go that fast! I really cant think why I was so dead, the pace wasnt anything killer but dang was i dead. It wasnt all physical though, there was definantly some mental weakness in there.

positives: went out strong, was not afraid to get up front and race... the first mile.

negatives: settled second mile. didnt go ball-shaking. got so discouraged by the people who passed me that I didnt even put up a fight, which is not like me. I think I should have propably hydrated more.

overall im sure I did better than im giving myself crap for, but there are definantly alot of things i can improve on. maybe it was just an off race. I hope so. Im definantly more motivated than ever to do my absolute very best and beat DH.  I hope our team can really get moving too.

Byron i have a question. If our captains don't have to blog should that mean the rest of us should stop worrying about blogging?

I have a question too, will coach choose Jake as a captain even though he is a sarcastic little weinerbob with no soul?
