I just finished my LDS mission, so this summer I am getting back into running shape. Run in the morning, swim and light strength lift in the afternoon.
Red-shirt at USU this fall and get ready to compete in the spring.

Make it on the USU A-team Personal: I just returned from a LDS mission. I served in the Bakersfield CA area.
Now, I'm a student at USU, running there and majoring in Bio-engineering.

| | todays run was absolutely horrible!!!!!!!!!!! i had to stop.....i NEVER have to stop! haha i dident drink like any water at all that day and i ran in the middle of the day but im sure that had nothing to do with it..............haha |

| | First run in about a week and a half, and it was tough! But not impossible. Besides the pioneer treck next week i should be able to run every day from now on. And darn mat is going to Hurrican.......stupid!!

| | pretty tough....really tough!! i have only ran 5.5 miles in the last week and a half so a long run wasent too easy but i tried as hard as i could. after the hell hole hill (say that 5 times fast) i picked up the pace alot. life lesson.... dont send a friend request to timmy?

| | morning run: 5.5 AWESOME! haha kinda, it was tough but after yesterdays run it felt like nothing. afternoon: 3 it wasent as hot as i though it would be, we kept it nice and easy and it felt great to lift again.....i feel so powerfull....so strong....

| | i did alot better then i thought i would have considering i dident run most of last week because of the pioneer treck. but me and jarred (who also went on the treck) cept up pretty well, and only fell behind about a hundred yards. did striders after.

woke up really early now im tired..... accidentally ran a mile more then i was supposed to, the math confused me ha. but ran it kinda slow. averaged about a 8 minute pace. afternoon practice was flippin hot!! what am i supposed to do/go for hills tomorow coach?

| | the 8 mile run wasent as incredibaly hard as i thought. going up hill 4 miles was very very hard but the last 4 felt fast but relaxed and nice. the sprinkleing rain wasent too shabby nither. 3 miles later that day was a killer though so it was sooo great that coach decided to hound me on my posture haha NOT! but i tried to keep the 'ol knees up anyways.

| | last run at camp!! i think that was the motiviation that drove our sore legs haha but the run felt pretty good. i couldent wait to get to lower elevation. camp was awesome despite the rain and crud and how hard it was to wake up each morning, but the underdogs will always come out on top (almost) in volley ball tournaments!! haha nerd wars should definantly be a anual thingy! the pvxc keychain thing is a really great idea too, i'll definantly be trying hard to earn thoes. 2nd time champ in the relays too! thanks coach! i cant wait for next years camp!! | |

| | i ran with the american fork xc team today and it was pretty different. apparantl;y each monday they do something called a grinder. its a 10 mile run with a 1.3 mile uphill tempo. its sounds a lot harder than it is though because they stopped 4 or 5 times during the run and i didn't have too much of a problem staying with that top 10 or 15 group until the last 1.5 miles or so when they were running pretty fast on the last stretch. i fell behind about a track length or so. pretty good run though |

| | just got slaped in the face. the race was simply embarasing. granted i have been a little bit sick with the stomach flu i little but i definantly learned my lesson. i could have pushed alot harder and stuck with the top group but i dident and in the end i just wasent doing what i could have. slacking with my runs these past 2 weeks and eating crap and beeing lazy have definantly screwed me over. its kinda a wake up call haha. no more slacking from now on and i am going to be acting like last year and the first part of summer in terms of dedication and healthy living. i have been excausted these last few days and it has been tough but it could be alot worse so screw you exaustation because im doin my runs!! it has also been very hot so if someone can turn the tempreture down i would appreciate it. on the posotive side the morning run was amazeing. exctreamly nervous about races.

| | morning run was amazeingly fantastic and i felt great the rest of the day. afternoon was pretty hot and i had a tough time the first part up green springs and fell behind a bit. then after the turnaround i felt good again i pushed up to the group again. im finally feeling less exausted then i have been lately and thats a good sign. lookin forward to morning run tomorow.

hurricane jv 2011 (3.08 Miles) 00:19:00, Place overall: 8 | | felt nice and strong on the warm up and that was a comfort. my attitude for all of the previous races i have ran was pretty stressfull and nervous but this time i had a attitude that i was here for fun, and it was! i felt very strong the whole first loop and passed one after another untill i got to the unreachable manu! but pushed the last half hard too, i was pretty happy with my time and im hopeing to improve it my a bit next week at suu, and get in a full good week of training this week too. |

Morning run was dandy as usual, really worked on high knees durring it too.
thousands were strong but slightly inconsistant. did some good weights & plyos with a refreshing ice bath to top it all off.

| | the one time that i dont show up to morning pracitce is the morning they have a contest to see who showed up the most, and the girls won i guess because i wasent there haha whatever! but afternoon was pretty good! miles were about 7:15 both times so kinda slow actually but i pushed my 200ds hard and my cool down as well. starting to get pain in my shin but am takeing care of that pretty good. time to get new shoes i think. |
| | morning run was good, pain in shin getting worse but spent 20 minutes iceing it after and it felt great the rest of the day. havent done barefoot in a whyle and it was a plesant change. it was super hot however but over all a nice run. shin hurt durring and a little bit after the run. hit the weights and plyos. iced shin even more.

ahhhh!!! i dont care that pride is of the devil, im very proud of myself! broke my goal for this year and now my goal is to stay consitant with less than 18 minutes now. that course is kinda short so i'll have to step it up next time. if only i would have passed that dessert hills kid we would have tied!! oh well, that gives me a goal for next year: not to lose the win for us haha but really that does give a goal not only for me but for all jv and that is to black out again at region this year. i belive we will be ready. not dissapointed at all though, i tried really hard and a got a shnazy t shirt so all is well. next race is dixie blegh haha hay bales are dumb.

| | morning run was good. finally got a locker (small, but still a locker) so i dont need to haul my (super sexy byu) bag back and forth from school everyday. my least favorite run, for four miles at least, would have to be shoe run! i very much dislike it. i also dident drink alot of water today and what a mistake that was! 4 miles or not water makes all the difference. i'll be sure to drink plenty for tomorows thousands work out.

that was a awesome race!!!!!! got my goal of first jv on the team. actually got 7th (but that was with tyson hurt and all) so i guess i just have to stick with that! now short term goal is 1st jv boy at region on our team and at least top 5 overall and i was thinkin..... i have another long term goal. get faster than colton! i dont know if it will be this season or track or whatever but thats one of my goals. be faster than colton. just have to follow his good example of comitment and dedication. he is definantly a great runner. wish i could be at provo next week. even if it was to watch. xc forever!

| | felt crappy this morning so dident go to morning practice. probably would have if it was a required day but it wasent so i figured it was okay. hard workout today! i had to go crap 3 times! twice durring the workout. on my last thousands i was pretty tired and had some breathing issues and side pains. it might have had something to do with the lack of water drank that day. i forgot my water bottle. i got the athlete of the week! put my shnazy sticker on my beautiful car to show off to the world of course. michigans on thursday haha exciteing!

wasatch rondevus (5 Miles) 00:17:35, Place overall: 7, Place in age division: 1 | | dang!!! super happy with my race, literally went as hard as i could without throwing up. started out fast and in no time i was 3rd being cheerd on by people and haveing rachel yelling at me to get my but up there! haha i felt really good and i wish i could have gone faster but after a little bit i had to throw up really bad and i knew if i did i would go way down in placeing so i went just slow enough to not. probably had something to do with that dougnut i ate haha. really gets me excited for regions though. i want to finish first. but dissapointed we lost to ceader. i think i started to scare colton a little bit haha hey, that varsity spot dosent sound too bad;) | |

ceader invite 2011 00:17:18, Place overall: 7, Place in age division: 1 | | great race for me, felt way tired the whole race but really steped it up on the last thousand meters or so and went from 14th to 7th. got first place in region though and makes me even more confident about winning region in a few weeks. |
| | barely had time to run but had time to get dropped off at the region course so i ran that then to my grandmas house right before priesthood session. it was good to run that course again. good job coach and everyone else at the marathon! |

snow canyon 2011 (2.95 Miles) 00:17:10, Place overall: 23, Place in age division: 4 | | this race was my fastest! probably because of all the cement and stuff. i started out pretty quick and slowly got a little slower durring the race. that motivation of being in the front wasent with me because of all thoes stinkin varsity runners but they werent the only ones in front of me, a few jv guys were to and thats not good. im really going to have to race harder next week if im even going to have a chance at winning region. very impresed with reeds race too, he was 15 seconds behind me and 3rd on the team |
| | did almost all of the warm up then we had to go inside because of the lighning. but then we ran 3 and it felt really good! i dont need to wear a ancle brace anymore and my almost shin splints looks like they wont be shin splints anytime soon. prospects for region.....good! |

nike whatever american fork 2011 (3 Miles) 00:17:50, Place overall: 40 | | my first varsity race was great!!!! i dident know how to compleatly run it with being in the middle of the pack and all but my goal was stick with colton and i did! he beat me by a second or two. i kinda felt like i could have run much harder and that would have been better for the both of us because every time i tried to make a move on colton he would speed right back up with me. it was us pushing eachother that helped us do so well. i got spiked too! my spikes, socks and skin have a nice tear in em! bloody mess haha |
| | dang i felt way bad today!! it was a struggle just to stay up at the front of the jv pack let alone with varsity! even the warm up was tough. i think im getting sick. the run felt way excausting and i felt really weak all over and got 2 bloody noses tonight. my brother and sister both are sick so i might be fighting what they have right now.....hopefully im all better by time trials on thursday. |
