Thank you Burt!

Your dedication is great. Congrats on losing the 40lbs in a year! With that work ethic you will be below 4hrs for the marathon in no time.

What legs have you run for WBR?

From Burt on Sun, Jun 22, 2008 at 21:00:22

I ran leg 11 last year. I didn't go this year.

I loved leg 11. I went in wanting a leg that had a nice uphill, a nice downhill, and a flat. Legs 11 and 12 were perfect. I gave leg 12 to a more experienced runner. Leg 11 was the shortest total distance, but it was in no way the easiest. In fact, it was quite challenging. But because it was the shortest, I believe many teams put their weakest runner on that leg. I was able to "kill" quite a bit of runners which is something I didn't do at all in the Del Sol race. Part of that was that there was more people to pass, but I think it's mostly because I was running against slower people. In any case, it felt great.

What about you?

From Adam RW on Sun, Jun 22, 2008 at 21:33:01

Burt, I would say all the legs on WBR are challenging. Getting some roadkill only makes the race that much more exciting. I ran leg 9, 21, and 33. With 33 by far being the hardest ("You've got to be kidding.") For Del Sol I ran leg 7, 19, and 31. Keep up the hard work let me know if you'll be racing in UT and I'll look for you. My next "key" race will be the Deseret News 10K.

Nice ride! Your comments on Cheston's blog cracked me up today - I also post my biking miles under comments... but it would be nice if the system had a way to track them and add them up (I screwed up and changed my blog template to the expert one, and now I can't change it back!) There is a blog template for triathletes but I think it still adds up all the mileage...

Anyway, keep up the good work!
