I took second at USATF Nationals Cross-Country when I was ten. I was 6th at nationals in the 3000 in 2004. Personal: I did lots of competitive running growing up. I'm now 23 and have fibromyalgia and CFS. I just finished nursing school and am going back for my MSN in a few months, but I want to get back in shape and be able to run again. |

Decided it was time to go for a run, since I hadn't run in 3 days. I just wanted to go for an easy fun run. I ran 4.25 miles. It took me 39:30 so I just took it easy, and didn't push the pace at all. Here is a map of where I went:

My legs were really achy and stiff. It took them about 20 minutes to loosen up. The weather was perfect and it was really pretty outside. I could have kept going but decided I would save it for another run, possibly tonight. Next, I want to focus for the USATF cross-country races. I'm going to add a few things to my training to hopefully help improve my times. I'm going to start stretching and doing strength conditioning. I think combining those with my regular running should hopefully help me to get faster. (Hayward 112) |

| Today I ran around the perimeter of SugarHouse Park, and then 1 lap on the road. Then we did 5 hills. I just ran slow. My legs felt alot better than yesterday. (Hayward 114) |

| Woke up this morning, and my calves were so sore! I'm not sure why. I goofed off in the weight room a little bit yesterday, but I don't think I did anything that would make my calves sore. Hmmm? Anyways. Warmed up a little bit before the race, then I did some strides then we ran the race. I didn't really feel like racing so I probably could have done better if I was more motivated. It was a 3k and it took me 12:44 which is about 4:15 a k give or take a couple of seconds. After the race we jogged the course once more. (Hayward 116) |

AM- Last night I forgot to turn my alarm off, but this morning at 5:30 I remembered that I had forgot. When it went off, I woke up and wasn't tired so I decide I might as well go for a run since I had nothing better to do. I started running down the road and eveything hurt and I was going really slow, but I just told myself to suck it up and run faster and maybe that would make things stop hurting. So I picked it up and luckily I started to feel good. I ran to the golf course, then I came out at the light and ran down to Loco Lizard, then I took the bike path to Holladay Blvd. and ran home from there. The pace at the end felt pretty good, but my ovrall pace wasn't that great. It was 8:50. My total time was 22:03. (Hayward 118)
PM- I went for a run at the gym, really late. I ran 4 miles. My time was 29:41. It felt good. After the run I went and did a little bit of weights. I also stretched. (Hayward 122) |

AM- This morning I ran the East Millcreek Halloween 5k. I was determined to have a good race because my last three races hadn't been very good. I started out hard, and was able to maintain a good pace the whole race. I had a sideache for the last mile or so. The course was hard with lots of uphill. I felt good. My time was 19:50
PM- Then we went to the American Fork Halloween 5k at night. This is one of my favorite races and it is a family tradition. It's dark outside and you get to run through a graveyard! Sometimes there are people that hide in the graveyard and jump out and scare you. We got to the race 10 minutes before the start, and I had just come from a family costume party so, since it was a Halloween 5k and people were wearing costumes I decided to stay in mine. I was wearing fishnet tights and a bumble bee dress. I ran the race and wanted to be the top women as I had been in the past. I was running and at about a mile 2 girls passed me like I was jogging. Then a little while later another girl passed me, and then another, and another. I couldn't figure out what was going on because I wasn't running slow. But I just kept pushing and I finished with a time of 19:22. After the race I talked to the girls and it turned out it was the BYU cross-country team, or at least some of their runners. There was also a girl that was 12 that ended up winning the race. I never saw her during the race. Her name was Morgan Warner. She ran an 18:03! I talked to her a little bit and she said she has been training with Pleasant Grove. I was suprised I had never seen her at a race before. Anyways, I was really happy with my races today, and I felt like I had put a good effort in to both of them without quiting on myself. |
