5K: 21:26 (2005)

4 mile: 28:10 (2005)

10K: 43:33 (2010)

10 mile: 1:13:35 (2009) (1:12:15 split in 1/2 marathon, 2011)

1/2 marathon: 1:34:31 (2011)

marathon: 3:19:15 (2013)

Short-Term Running Goals:

3:20 marathon - Eugene Marathon, April 28, 2013 (can I say I really want a sub 3:20? but I will be happy with 3:20-3:23) -- whoohoo!

Some good intermediate races 15K - 1/2 marathon, to gauge my fitness level (done this, hit a 1:34:35 1/2 marathon in March 2013, on a hilly course)

Going after my 10 mile PR in Fall 2013

Maybe some good 10K races after the infernal Arizona summer is over!

Long-Term Running Goals:

I want to be one of those runners who is still running in their 80s (or 90s?).  You know the ones, who look all grisley and fit?  That is what I would like!  Until then, I just want to work hard and be as fast as I can, for as long as I can.

AM: (8 miles, 1:13:23).  Nice and warm, Dean just said, "it is a nice summer day today ... too bad it is March" ;-).  It is 84F, and sunny, but I won't complain at all .... I ran, I saw Big Boy and CoCo (by the way, Dover bit me again yesterday -- he just doesn't know how to control those big teeth of his!) and ran some hills.

PM: 4 miles.

Although I am going to try to spend a whole 24 hours not obsessing about my disease, I do need to figure out how to get my appetite back.  Although there is a little part (ok maybe a bigger than little part) of me that enjoys being my new 13 lbs underweight, I am being told that I have to put on some weight in the next few weeks (so I can lose it again during treatment).  SOOOO ... I need to go and buy some stuff that really makes me hungry.  Maybe a little slim-fast and ice cream anyone? ;-)

Happy Saturday bloggers!!

From Burt on Sun, Mar 25, 2012 at 00:01:41 from 72.223.93.158

Did somebody say float?

Hey Bonnie. Can you cruise on over to Lybi's blog to see if you know who the elite runners are that ran in her race today?

Thanks for the heads-up Burt, yes, I know Aaron Braun !! I haven't met his wife before though. He is really fast! I can't wait to see what he can do in the Olympic Trials!

Bonnie~ I just read all your posts from this week. Admittedly my gut twisted a bit with mixed feelings. Incredibly upset about your news but also hopeful and happy that it was caught now and not later. I also got a little emotional because my first semester in PT school me and 3 others were please do not swearigned the lecture on breast cancer (so we spent quite some time educating ourselves in preparation). Anyway, I am certain that you will kick its please do not swear (normally I stay away from "swears" but in this case it is totally called for) and I already know what t-shirt I am sending you when you do!!!! My thoughts are with you, Bonnie. Luvs. :)

I had to catch up to see what was going on too. My prayers are with you Bonnie, stay strong! :)

Thank you Teena -- you always make me smile!! I don't post often, but I have been following how well your training is going! I am so happy for you! Having you as part of my "team" means a whole lot to me!! This is all just a little blip in a good life.

Mike -- thank you so much! I bet you could tell something was going on when I hadn't posted all that "liberal stuff" on facebook ;-)

From rAtTLeTrAp on Sun, Mar 25, 2012 at 10:09:27 from 174.253.199.145

If that's what it takes to slow you down, I would much rather keep you healthy and hear your opposing views. You are so strong, this thing doesn't stand a chance against you! Just like Teena said, you're gonna kick its ass! :)

From Teena Marie on Sun, Mar 25, 2012 at 10:28:39 from 174.27.199.63

Oh ... and for the record it should have read "I and three others" (not "me and three others" :) :) :))Oh wait ... maybe it should read "Three others and I" :) :) :). Grammar should never count on Sunday mornings!!!

Grateful to be on your team!!! :) :) :)

Oh wow Bonnie! You are one of my running idols and I usually check in, but have just been too busy lately to be a really good blogger. My heart and prayers go out to you. I'm with Teena that you will kick some please do not swear on this one! Running is SO therapeutic, especially in situations like this. It sounds like everything is being well watched over and with an early and quick diagnosis this will become a simple blip in your history.
