AM: 8 miles - so, Dean ran his first race in nearly 3 years this morning. It was at the university - he was looking for a fast 5K because he and Greg McMillan are trying to find races that they can win (not easy to do when you are 53, by the way ;-)). So, Dean thought that this 5K that is sort-of affiliated with the Tucson marathon (which is tomorrow) would be just the ticket (since most of the fast people are running the half or marathon). Well, these darn high school runners showed up and stole his thunder! But, he did come in 3rd, and we have "just the race" for him to win (we met someone who works for Pam Reed - the race director of the Tucson marathon - and he is sponsoring a race in January) -- I told Dean that the only thing that would ruin it for him was if Greg found out and showed up on race day (ha ha ha, I seriously debated setting this up, but I really do want Dean to "win" the bet!). PM: 4 miles Even though it doesn't look like it, I am actually getting much faster. My usual runs are taking less time, even though I am running at the same effort. "sort-of" excited to go to the track and check things out! Last night we met up with some friends of ours from Nashville (well, now they live in San Francisco - but we met them in Nashville). They are in town for the Tucson marathon this Sunday!
