5K: 21:26 (2005)

4 mile: 28:10 (2005)

10K: 43:33 (2010)

10 mile: 1:13:35 (2009) (1:12:15 split in 1/2 marathon, 2011)

1/2 marathon: 1:34:31 (2011)

marathon: 3:19:15 (2013)

Short-Term Running Goals:

3:20 marathon - Eugene Marathon, April 28, 2013 (can I say I really want a sub 3:20? but I will be happy with 3:20-3:23) -- whoohoo!

Some good intermediate races 15K - 1/2 marathon, to gauge my fitness level (done this, hit a 1:34:35 1/2 marathon in March 2013, on a hilly course)

Going after my 10 mile PR in Fall 2013

Maybe some good 10K races after the infernal Arizona summer is over!

Long-Term Running Goals:

I want to be one of those runners who is still running in their 80s (or 90s?).  You know the ones, who look all grisley and fit?  That is what I would like!  Until then, I just want to work hard and be as fast as I can, for as long as I can.

AM: (little longer than 9 miles, 1:22:35). 42:15 out and 40:20 back on the Schultz Canyon/Sunrise trail.  This is a great trail that I haven't run much because the last time we stayed at this particular cabin (owned by one of my colleagues) there had been a fire burning on the mountain.  Little evidence of the fire down this particular trail, but there was a lot debris from subsequent floods.  It is a very popular mountain biking trail - so the trail is in pretty good condition.  Rocky, but gradual uphill going out and nice downhill coming back.

PM: easy 4.

The new mcmillan running calculator is out !!! check and out and see what you think.  For me, it did not change too much -- a little faster on some of the stamina workouts, but overall still seems pretty accurate.  The race predictions haven't changed much - except for the addition of some track distances and the ultra stuff.

Happy Tuesday!

Sounds like a fun run. It is always nice to run in new areas and explore a bit.

Thanks for linking the calculator. I am off to check it out. :)

Let me know what you think Rachelle, about whether it seems more like what your easy run paces/long run paces, etc. are ... whether it is faster or slower than what you had seen before.

Great job, Bonnie! I've been in the dark recently, but I read you last few entries and you mentioned radition...are you fighting something besides headwinds and forest fires?

ha ha ha ... yes, I was diagnosed with very very early stage breast cancer in March ... no chemo, just surgery and a few weeks of radiation. Not a biggie, well, it did interfere with my running so that was a pain ;-). I am healthy and none of my numerous doctors are worried about me, they just feel the need to meet with me every couple of months and poke and prod me!!

No doubt! You are such a champ. Soooo glad you caught it early, you amazing lady!
