I wanted to run 8 today -- but I had to sneak this run in between bunches of conference calls and a little lunch date with Tracy McMillan. Then, at night, I met up with Dean who was attending the McMillan Running Coaches clinic (he is not a coach, but Greg invited him to come and participate - because he has been running for so long -- because he is old, he he; seriously, he has actually been running for about 40 years now). Anyway - the attendees had a dinner and I joined up with them. One of the coaches was a coach from Yuma, AZ who is the coach of the state/US boys champion in the mile, Bernie Montoya (http://parser.dyestat.com/search.jsp?athID=166783#.UeQLNTs7hg0) he ran a 4:01 mile last year, he also is the state boys champion at the 2 mile (9:00 min), and a host of other distances as well. His coach, Chris, was a super nice guy, and very knowledgeable about running in general, and coaching. Fun dinner!! Happy Friday bloggers! |
