wouldn't call these easy miles because i ate tofu and broccoli from bethel chinese kitchen. the first 2.4 miles with kristin was fine but running on my own after was horrible, the sickness of the heavy soy sauce and the high 80's heat was almost unbearable. Not to mention it was super buggy out. i stopped to pee and got bit numerous times and i tried to run while peeing because i was swarmed by all these gnats that seemed to number in the hundreds. I also fell once and immediately heard multiple buzzing in my ear as the flies tried to get an easy meal. having to watch every game of the world cup kind of ruins the running schedule. i hate running late. it's much better to get it over with. was seriously out there for almost 2hrs and accumulated only 9 miles at huntington.

4 miles on treadmill during lunch.

pm, didn't have time to go to the track so warmed up .33 miles then did 5 mile loop at tempo pace. i thought it had cooled off after the rain and it probably did but it certainly did not feel cool. Thought the counter clockwise loop was easier but i think it's much harder. It starts off downhill when you're fresh and then goes uphill from mile 2 to 3.5 constantly. definitely was hard today.

6:42, 6:27, 7:07, 7:09, 6:38 complete loop 5.01 miles in 34:10.

had to drop off my car about 1.8 miles from work in the morning to repair broken struts. ran in jeans and running shoes...didn't have gps but would guess the 13 mins it took me was about 1.6 miles. Was disgustingly sweaty by time got to work. Ran 6.2 on treadmill at lunch, showered, after which realized i forgot a change of underwear. had to go without. the run to pick up the car was not the most pleasant thing in jeans again.

ran 2.6 miles after got home from work. don't know if i've ever run 4 different times in 1 day before.

1.6+6.2+1.6+2.6 = 12

wanted to wake up early and trail run at huntington before work. just not possible with the 15 min round trip of driving. got 3.0 in on a pretty hilly loop, ended up running down gallows hill and up limekiln. wasn't super stiff and was able to go under 10 min mile which is good for me and my morning jog. Had a few minutes to stretch out after which helped my planned workout during lunch.

Since i have limited time these days and going to a track takes to long and i don't even feel like i have time to stretch, i've been doing tempo workouts as my primary stress. I think these are probably the most important for the half marathon and long trail races but i could be wrong. Warmed up for 0.12 miles or 1min so i could time my 10k on the treadmill. I hate being off on the distance when running and having to get to 6.32 instead of 6.2. Psychologically it's bad. Anyways, decided to try to beat my previous treadmill workout time of 38:45. I started the first 3 miles in 6:11 instead of 6:18 and felt fine. I realized i would have to go faster if i wanted to break 38min. I decided to do the next 3 miles in 6:03 and for the last 1/4 mile went under 6min pace. Total time 37:57. Was definitely glad to be done but didn't feel all that bad.

After work ran 1.61 miles with kristin on whortleberry because didn't have more time.

drove up to cape cod yesterday to hang out with my parents who are staying there on the bay. Did not get a chance to run yesterday. Ran 8.75 miles at nickerson park which was pretty nice. mostly paved bike paths but found some side trails. one led to this abandoned road with grass up to my waist. somehow there aren't any ticks this year.
