Read a discussion on the forum where Sasha was counseling that it was much better to run at a 10 minute pace and then walk than to run at 12 minute pace the whole way.  He did say the pace required to improve was higher for heavier runners (me).  So after running at a constant pace last time around, I followed Sashas advice.  I did have a day off in between but finished quicker than when I ran the constant pace.  Got up to 9:30 pace at times.

Went on a short 1.45 mile hike in the desert and saw what I believe was a Great Horned Owl sitting in a rock pile out in the middle of the day.  He just sat there and watched us.  I wonder if it was a nest.  Kind of weird to see a big owl like that during the day.  Also saw a Chuckwall in a crevice.  Used the big face of my Garmin watch to reflect sun into the crack.

That's cool. We had two mallards in our front yard today.

Pretty soon you could be seeing some cute baby ducks waddling around.
