Too many runs lately at trail pace and needing one without severe uphills so I had my son drive Walter Brown and me up to about the 8,500 level on Mt Logan in the afternoon. We ran to Right Hand Fork and over to Crimson Trail, hooking up with Logan River Trail to come out the canyon, and up to my house. Nice gradual downhill and we averaged 6:07 miles through the first 6. Much faster than anything I have done in a while and it felt good. Super hot coming into the Logan Canyon trails though and we kept stopping briefly to hold our heads in the river. I was happy to see 6:30 average through 17 miles. Downhill but on trail. The last four killed us. Just could not keep up with water trying to run fast. Two of these miles were over 8 min pace. |
