Trying to be careful with this race and not repeat 2012. Aimed to stay conservative on as near 6:20 as I could hold.

Awesome seeing everyone at the start! It started raining 6 minutes before the gun and didn't stop until 5 miles in. I had visions of last year's Ogden Marathon but it stopped as soon as it soaked my shoes completely. I spent six miles weaving through the most people who started fast that I have seen in a marathon. I should have placed a better start.

I felt great today. Probably could have pushed it harder but with a marathon two weeks ago and being out of shape, I was pretty nervous. From mile 8 on I was completely alone. The Utah guys were way ahead, nobody was behind me. I just tried to stick on as close to 6:20 pace as I could. Eight Utah guys in the top seventeen. Me being the slow one as usual.

Amazing Steve. For "not being in shape" you have been able to put together a nice string of races.

Good solid race man, Amazing how you can do this back to back, week after week and run solid. Tough..

Josh, thanks. Right now the best feeling is that I made it through without an injury.

Spencer, that's a great course. It's fast. But it reminded me of running the Salt Lake Marathon with so many 90 turns.

Burt, welcome to the pain locker. :-)

Steve, thanks. I'm a long ways off from where I want to be but at least now I know how to get there.

Is there anything Steve can't do? I would propose that there is not.

Great race Steve and great seeing you down there. You are a machine at hitting all these long runs and marathons. Congrats on the Master's podium finish!

You are amazing. Looking forward to running with you on Sunday. When do you arrive in PHX?

From Steve on Mon, Mar 03, 2014 at 14:59:52 from 66.87.126.172

Clyde, dead right. Time to lean up a little.

Christie, thanks. None of it as fun as that last canyon run though.

Jeff, I don't have any set plans yet. Probably fly in the day before. My kids are with me through this week though so we may go down earlier. Are you taking any family down?

From jtshad on Mon, Mar 03, 2014 at 15:01:07 from 141.221.191.225

Steve, no just me. Staying with friends in Fountain Hills. Having a BBQ Saturday nigh if you are interested. Let me know.

Ha Ha! Maybe Burt should put something together the next day for all of us. He lives there anyways...
