Easy 7 miles total waiting and run commuting back to home. When it rains it pours at times.. Today the starter motor on my car gave out along with our dishwasher. The good news is that I found a part for the dishwasher and the starter motor is still under warranty. I had the starter motor replaced less than a year ago. My van has 208,000 miles on it and still runs strong so repairing it at this level still makes sense. Car payments are the number one killer towards retirement.

Yep, traded in the old Odyssey last year with 308,000 on it. Finally decided it was time once the engine seals started failing and leaking too much. So traded up for a 2015 Odyssey with 100,000 miles. Two kids in college and one on the way. :)

My approach has always been if you have to make payments, this means you cannot afford the car. I wonder how the economy would adjust if everybody took this approach. Some will say it would kill the car industry, but I think it would just trim down the lard and learn to produce less expensive cars.

Honda makes a great vehicle. Mine happens to be a 2000 Chevrolet Venture. Coincidentally I was looking at some Honda Civic models the other day, and liked what I saw except for the price! Not the greatest time to go used car shopping.
