AM

6 miles: This was supposed to be a big week of training but it is off to a really bad start.  Energy level is really low.  I think I can shift my runs around and still get a good week of running in.  Legs felt very tired and sore this morning.  One of those runs where you feel like you are wasting your time.  I am going to try to get out later this afternoon for a short and easy run.

PM

4 Miles: Just in case you were not aware of this, eating a smothered burrito with cheese before going on a run is not a good idea.  Slow and heavy does not even begin to explain how I felt.  Got the miles in and may still be able to salvage the week.

Come on Andy!!!! This is the last big week!!! YOU GOT THIS!!!! :) :) :)

(Pour yourself a big bowl of Wheaties ... or whatever gives you super powers and keep it rolling just a little longer!)

Tara - I have my last 20 before Boston. I think Kam has plans for a long one, too. What did you have in mind?

From Tara on Tue, Mar 20, 2012 at 17:31:53 from 75.169.140.216

Whatever. Prob could do 17 or so. I'd like to include a little downhill running somewhere in there. What are your thoughts?

From Kam on Tue, Mar 20, 2012 at 20:34:39 from 174.23.234.60

Downhill running where? I've been trying to solve that problem without driving to Ogden Valley or the Provo river trail for 4 years. The downhill around here is much steeper and shorter than you will encounter in a couple weeks. We could do laps up and down Porter Lane; it's pretty gradual from the Cemetery to the Frontage road, 1.1 miles at a time...

From Kam on Tue, Mar 20, 2012 at 20:35:36 from 174.23.234.60

Any ideas, Andy? One time I ran up to the end of the road in Mueller Canyon, and then ran down, but it was quad trashing too steep.

From Kam on Tue, Mar 20, 2012 at 20:36:04 from 174.23.234.60

I feel you on the burrito. I've got 8 to go on a gut full of spaghetti and chicken. Yum.

From Tara on Tue, Mar 20, 2012 at 20:40:53 from 75.169.140.216

How about starting around Davis blvd and run down to trail. Some steep some gradual. Run on trail then run back up. A mix of flat, up and down. Some might call it a little big. Or a muleuller park run. I do like that idea. We needs hills one way or another and I not talking switch backs :)

From Smooth on Tue, Mar 20, 2012 at 20:44:02 from 174.27.212.157

save the smothered burrito eating for ultra marathon...it's da bomb! :)

From Andy on Wed, Mar 21, 2012 at 11:28:29 from 199.190.170.29

Tara/Kam - We could start at Davis Blvd. or MPJH and have 1 mile of steep and 4 miles of gentle downhill to the trail. Is that going to be too much hill running a week before your race?
