| | Weekly workout this week was 5x1000s. My goal pace was the same pace as my 800s the week before. Today, my target was 3:53.
I did a two mile warm up, saw a nice big rattler snake crossing the path, that was lovely.
A couple strides at Beus Pond to start, then onto my 1000s. I was perfect on my first two 3:53, 3:53, 3:55, 3:48. My 4th one, I thought I was falling off pace so I kept pushing harder and harder and then I spent all the rest of my energy on that one. It ended up being my fastest one. But because I told myself beforehand that I was going to do 5, I started my 5th one anyway and was slow from the get go. I was dry heaving by the 800m mark, so I stopped for 5 seconds, then I got mad at myself for stopping, and finished the rest of the 1000. I didn't really count my 5th one because I stopped. Oh well, hopefully I'll be smarter next time and try to run even. I feel like it's hard to find a rythum these days with these intervals I've been doing the last few weeks. I feel like I'm an amateur.

The Layton Classic (3.28 Miles) 00:21:19, Place in age division: 2 | | Today was the Layton Classic race put on by our good friends Ken and Janae Richardson. This was my 3rd year running the 5K. Both the 10K races and 5K races were pretty competitive today I wasn't expecting to place today, I was just looking to continue to improve for the year. I don't know what my overall place was for females, but I placed 2nd in my age group today. I don't have much to report except that I averaged 6:30 pace, which is what my goal was. The course measured a little long, had it been 3.1 I would've been under 21 minutes. Splits were 6:24, 6:37, 6:25, .28 - 1:51. Mile 2 has the uphill and it was a better split from my previous two years. Happy with the progress today.
