The intention was to do my long run today. I wanted to get 17 miles in with a 10 mile aeorobic builder in the middle. My achilles has been sore for the last two days but I thought it would warm up and go away. I ran a three mile warm up and the plan was to average 6:45-6:50. I was feeling really good except for my achilles. After about 3 miles on pace and feeling relaxed it started effecting my stride and speed. I was compensating on my sore achilles too much. I went back and forth for the next few miles still wondering if I should stop, I really wanted to do this workout and I was feeling good but I decided I couldn't put up with another 8 miles with a little limp. It felt like I sprained my ankle. After about another 3.5 miles I decided I needed to end it and take tomorrow off. There is some swelling on my left achilles so hopefully some ice over the weekend will help and I can run on Monday. Here's splits for my 7 miles of aeorbic builder 6:43, 6:44, 6:44, 6:56, 7:00 6:55, 7:11. The 4th mile was when it started effecting my stride and then my pace.
