We got a babysitter today so I could go run this race in Roy, while Riley was up running top of utah. I ran Focus4 back in 2011 and took 2nd place. I needed another race to run this month and remembered this one was a good course, well marked, and well put together race with a lot of prizes for giveaway. They did $100 cash prize to the overall male and female winners and then $20 if you won your age division, I was hoping for one of those prizes. I showed up to the race and did a 2 mile warm up. I was feeling good but I wasn't sure how this race would go because of all the 21 day fix workouts I've been doing this week. I've been extra sore. I was warmed up and ready to go at 7:55 because I was planning on 8:00 for the start time. It turns out that everybody had to walk about half mile to the start so we didn't get started until about 8:20. I forgot about that from 4 years earlier. Once the race started the first mile felt pretty stiff. There weren't any other females ahead of me at the start but I looked behind about halfway and saw a female about 1 minute back so I made sure I concentrated the whole way and didn't let up from the pace I was running. Not that my pace was very impressive, but for me, I was pushing the whole way. They had one hill at the end of mile one that wasn't too long then a good uphill in mile 3. My splits were 6:59, 6:56, 7:03, 6:44. I was happy with my race today it went better then I expected. I felt like I was focused the whole race and pushed through the difficult portions. Now I'm $100 richer.

AP 6:53 for the race. afterwards did dirty 30 fix.

Great job! I'm proud of you. Just keep consistently getting out the door each day and you'll be running very well soon.

Glad you brought home the bacon ($100) today! Dinner?
