Broke trail all the way to Big Water this morning on the Nordics. Holy wiped! That was a pretty nice way to celebrate the anniversary of my stupid hip surgery. Some days I feel like I am worse off than before the surgery and then there are weeks like this one where I feel hopeful and almost normal. Problem is my hip joint is too lax now (a side effect of the surgery, which I think may have even been a problem before the surgery too) and I've been told that it won't get any better without additional surgery. Part of me wants to jump right in and get healing, but the other part of me just wants to deal. I ran 11 miles this week and skied 9 today with very little discomfort so all I know at this moment is that there is no way in he!! I am going through with the surgery this week. I want to enjoy the snow, the holidays, and just see what happens. Surgery still doesn't guarantee anything and who knows, what if it does get better on its own and I am able to ski the Birkie and run the Red Hot and the Buffalo Run. I would be so stoked!!!
