What a gorgeous day - absolute favorite temps! Went out for a little over an hour on the BST and saw one baby rattlesnake and one bitty tarantula.

From what I hear it is mating time for the tarantulas. I had to leap over one at the St. George marathon this year. Good to see you're out on the trails.

This is the only time of the year I see tarantulas. They come out of hiding to mate - is that why?

From Scott Wesemann on Wed, Oct 12, 2011 at 13:42:39 from 205.158.160.209

I think so. I heard they get really active during the mating season, which is going on right now. I also heard they are very agressive right now, so don't try and pick them up. :)
