*Super Rant Alert*

Total utter meltdown! No biking, running, yoga, hip exercises of all kinds until further notice. Surprisingly, this was the first time I cried at PT. My PT handled me pretty well and fed me Kit Kats and Twix while I iced :) That means no desert birthday weekend. Seriously?!? All I wanted to do was go for a bike ride on my birthday. Seems like that wasn't a whole lot to ask the world - grrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr! I know that things could be so much worse, but this is frustrating nonetheless. I have done everything right. I do a million hip exercises every day. I have eased into running slowly and I really haven't pushed it. I ice twice a day. I have been super positive. I stretch. I foam roll. I self-massage. I am slightly pathetically feeling sorry for myself right now... It is just that I am putting so much energy into getting healed that this kind of set back just feels mean. I will get through this. I will get through this. Happy thoughts please!

I am so sorry to hear that. I am super impressed by your dedication to rehab and your positive attitude. It's okay to rant and feel sorry for yourself sometimes :) I hope this setback passes quickly. If you ever want to get out and do something non-hip aggravating (like eating or drinking), let me know.

So why do you need to stop exercising? You've been feeling well except yesterday, is that right?

Thanks Tina. I am already feeling better, I just needed to let it all out. Considering the current situation, I would be up for a big fat DRINK anytime :)

Andrea - I have been feeling pretty awful since Sunday and have what they call iliopsoas bursitis. I am pretty swollen and have really limited hip flexion. I am told it is not uncommon in this stage of the recovery and I guess it will only calm down with total rest and ice. I felt better the day after surgery then I do now, but that could have been all the drugs.

Oh that's terrible. How frustrating that you have done everything right and still the bursitis occurs. Maybe you should get some more of those drugs? Can you do arm strength training - sounds miserable, I know!

P.S. I would love to join for non-aggravating hip fun too.

Andrea - When do you get back? Non-aggravating hip fun for sure!

Think I will go back in the pool and maybe try out that arm bike. I've avoided it since it brings back awful shoulder surgery memories.

I'm so sorry about this. I know how you are feeling, I really do. It's so disheartening when all you wanna do is get up and move your body. I hope the inflammation clears up quick for you.

Ohh, that's tough news. Hang in there and keep up the hard work, it'll come around.

You got this - Take the time to over develop your upper body... Not in the PIZZA, Donuts, Ice Cream way either - mind you. Also, you could just go hang out at the Kura Door.
