I am 42, and am only getting better with age and wisdom.

Running is about third or fourth on my priority list, but that's pretty high.  I'm a busy guy.  My family comes first.  I've got a few great runners in the bunch - watch out for them!

Set out to do 7 "Yasso" 800s at 3:00 each, since I did 6 last week. I felt so solid completing number 6 that I decided to attempt number 7 in 2:30.  Put the treadmill on its max speed of 12 mph. Felt solid completing the 800 - time read 2:25 - so I kept going - decided to see if I could run a full mile at that pace.  Finished the mile in 4:50!  I don't know if the treadmill was messed up or not, but assuming it was right that was the fastest mile I've ever run on flat ground. When I ran a 4:52 in high school, I felt weird in the gut on lap 3, was lactic for at least the final 200 meters, and collapsed at the finish.  Today I was none of that.  It was beautiful.  It was "running with joy"!

Either the treadmill was crazy or the cross training and modified Hanson system are taking me much closer to my potential!
