Went to bed kind of late yesterday because I watched a DVD about losers. I knew I was going to get up late because of that, but I woke at dawn, just as the gray clouds were brightening my skylight. Instead of digging deeper into the trenches of my bed, I felt energy flowing through me. I felt like running, and even though I put in a short one yesterday, I could not resist, so not caring if it was raining or cold, I got up, quickly washed and dressed, and was out the door. Weather was calm, about 45 degrees, and I felt it was going to be a good day - high energy, fresh legs, and a good breathing pattern. Ran my usual route on the Amazon/Rexius Trail, but extended it an extra mile, and when I stopped after a hard final two miles I immediately recovered normal breathing as if I had not run at all.

So I am thinking cutting sweets out of my diet may be one cause of the high energy. That gives me extra motivation to refrain, but it is odd how just a simple day count that I am doing here is enough to keep me going. Today is day four of no sweets - so far, so good!

I am going to test my theory of day counting, and begin keeping track of my meditation days. Goal is to meditate a  minimum of 30 minutes each day. I began doing this about 2 weeks ago, so I will estimate this is day 14.

No sweets - day 4

Meditation - day 14
