This morning it snowed just a bit, but nothing to affect the run. The temperature was 25 degrees, and it felt on the chilly side with the wind blowing.   I took a 30 minute nap yesterday and also got over 8 hours of sleep so I felt really good.

The run this morning I started off with a 3 mile warm-up (7:16, 6:53, 6:52) then I decided to do  6 x 200m strides with a 100m slow down (the slow down was around a 6 minute pace range).  The strides I average between a 5:20 and 5:35 pace.  The finally two miles doing these strides made the mile pace overall at (6:14, 5:48)

Overall run totals: 5.5 miles at an overall 6:40 pace in 36:55.  I'll do another 5 miles tomorrow.  I was going to run with the dog this morning but the weather wasn't cooperating.

Kory, "Running for fitness" is sure misleading for your blog name. "Running for punishment" might be a better description of what you do. I say this spoiled by the Texas temperatures and running at the signifitantly slower pace than you do, but I know we both love it and enjoy what we can do. I'm dedicating mile 13 in Boston to Benn as I pass all the women at Wellesley. I'll dedicate mile 21 to you as I head up Heart Break Hill. I'll recall all the pain that you ran through in your Achilles recovery. Enjoy, Paul

Paul - Thank you very much I will dedicate the last 4 miles of the SLC marathon to you, because you have to run in that Texas heat. I know the last 4 miles are going to be tough with the pace were attempting, and I'm sure I'll feel like I'm running in 100 degree weather.

Thanks again for being a friend and all the support and advice you have given me has been helpful.

Brrrrr!!! Snow?! For once I guess I'm glad to be in New York right now! You are looking strong going into SLC thon, Kory. Run strong and run within yourself. You have the speed and the grit and determination. Regardless of the weather, you'll make it your race.
