Ran a somewhat painful 4.63 miles in 32 minutes on the Home Treadmill this morning.  I didn't want to run too much to give my foot a break.  This will help if I decide to run 13 miles with Barry tomorrow.   My foot is definitely hurting like it was before.  Once I get done with the run I limp pretty much the rest of the day.  I know I should not run, but I want to run up till my doctor appointment Monday so that he can see what's really going on.   I'd rather see him in pain and no pain if I rest it.  I did run at a 5:56 pace for about 4 minutes and that actually felt good.

Dude, stop running and keep you fitness strong with other options. I have a friend here in IF who has a fractured hip and she refuses to listen to Doc's and here co-runners to lay off to let it heal. It starts feeling better, then she runs, then it hurts! A lifetime of running and health is more important than running for/in the next month.

Yes, Kory, I agree with Jeff. Try some biking/elliptical/swimming or just rest. It can't be good to run a day, limp for the rest of the day, take an easy day, then do a 13-16 mile run the next day. Get 100% better, then start running. At least that is what I would do. I know people who keep trying to run thru injuries when they shouldn't and end up not being able to run for life. Not saying yours is that serious, but don't let it get there. My two cents.

Jeff, Jon - You do make perfect sense. I wanted just to see how I feel tomorrow with not running as much today. I'm taking my cell phone with me in case I can't make the run tomorrow.

Whatever the doctor says Monday that's exactly what I'll do. I can't keep having nagging injuries, because your right, I'd rather walk healthy than have a lifetime problem. I appreciate your comments and concern.

This has really been hard for me to lay off. I really feel handicapped and not a runner anymore. I think I've decided, "if healthy", I'm only going to run one race. That would be the Pocatello Marathon.

Only run one more race forever? That is a bit extreme. Or just for this year?

I agree time off now is good but don't limit your future too much. Just take a month off then work slowly back into it. You seem to enjoy racing (and running hard for that matter) too much. Have a relaxing weekend and see what the doc says on Monday.
