Didn't sleep last night because of the coughing and phlegm built-up. I had to get up a few times to clear the throat and blow my nose. Good thing there's caffeine or I would be dead. I've been drinking half of a Vault Zero every morning before my run for the past two weeks just to wake up. This morning the wind was blowing around 17mph so I headed into it just for fun (ya right). I was sore the first couple of miles from yesterday's long run so I took it easy around a 7:40 pace. I've done two 20 milers five days apart so that could be part of that :-). The wind started blowing from the side so it really wasn't a factor the rest of the run. I wanted to do some sort of speed pickup so I did a progressive run. 6:41 - warmed up a bit (flat) 6:31 - little faster and felt ok, but still tired (flat) 6:17 - not difficult but spitting up more as I go faster (flat) 6:04 - not bad but did seem a little harder than it should have (flat) 6:40 - nice cool down mile. All in all it was an okay run. My pre-training of trying to sleep and eat more isn't good right now. But when you don't feel the best you don't feel like eating a lot either. Things will get better once I can SLEEP.
