After my morning devotion with my wife I headed out to do a little faster run this morning.  I had a morning meeting at work which was a good motivator to run faster.  The temperature  was between 15 to 20 degrees with some fog.   I ran 10.12 miles at an overall 6:52 pace in 1:09.  The last 7 miles I wanted to keep under a 7 minute pace (6:51, 6:50, 6:51, 6:46, 6:52, 6:33, 6:17).

I probably won't do a long run tomorrow, because I'm going to run 11 miles with my friend Barry.  His goal this week is to reach 70 miles and all he needs is 11 miles to do so.  Me, I'll barely be above 50 miles which is fine with me. This cut-back in running has been great for my life and given me better balance.  I actually feel faster than last year and know at this point I could run under a 2:30 with God's grace.

Hope you're doing well. When the timing's right to "ramp-up" again, you'll certainly give 2:30 a run for it...Glad to see the devo's going well. Our family has been back in sync with our evening devotions. Kind of a "walk through the Bible" approach...the girls are enjoying it and our prayer time has been quality. Thanks for helping us fellow bloggers keep perspective.

Rockness - I'm glad your devotions are going well. I know they have made my wife and me happier and more passionate with our relationship with the lord and each other.

We've also been reading the bible every night as well which is something I wasn't doing a lot of lately.

Thanks for the advice about the mileage. You know I've realized that a 2:30 is a great accomplishment, but really I can't take it with me so if it doesn't happen then it wasn't in God's plans.

Have a great weekend.

Good to hear that you are out running and that you continue to have great persepctive on your running. Also, sounds like a good run tomorrow with Barry and nice of you to help him achieve his goal.
