No running today, still resting the achilles (this sounds like a repeating record). Last night I had major stomach issues where I had to vomit in the middle of the night. I think my problem was I ate quite a big dinner, and I started exercising right after that and it just upset my stomach. I felt awful when I first went to bed. My son got up in the middle of the night to go to the bathroom, and I helped him, and that just triggered my stomach and I rushed to the toilet and you know the rest. My stomach was hurting in the middle of the night and I struggled to not have to vomit, but what can you do. I had a horrible nights sleep.

Anyway, I went to the gym this morning and did 35 minutes on the bike and 11 minutes on the Elipitical machine which I absolutely hate. I also did 3 x 20 reps of pull ups.  I'll say I did an effort of 5 miles total.

So what am I doing wrong Kory with my healing? I have tried to rest it, ice and heat. Basically everything all to no avail it seems. I'm borderline depression almost with 1 month without running. Have only attempted 2 miles of running in 3 wks and 0 in 13 days.

Benn: Have you tried stretching and form rolling? Your on your feet 9 hours a day have you tried wearing an achilles brace. I know this has really helped me a lot with the support it gives.

I'm not experiencing any pain right now, and I jogged about 100m's today and everything felt fine. I've also done a lot of stretching and flexing my achilles.

I stretch about 6 times a day, and ice 4 x 20-30 mins per day as well as soak once a day in warm water. In addition been trying to massage my calf muscle and what not. But it's almost got to the point where I don't want to try anything else. Trying to not get depressed with a month off of running is way harder than running any race or training for anything . This is by far the hardest thing I've done in my life. But dammit it's so frustrating because I wasn't doing anything out of the ordinary when I got injured. And i've done everything they tell you to, and it's like it hasn't helped at all. I don't have the mental drive to stay positive any more. Too many other stressful things in life. I think I'm going to take some time off and maybe come back after Easter

Benn, you'll be in my prayers. Keep doing what your doing because determination always preveils. Try doing a couple days of completely nothing, (but still stretch), don't even cross-train, and try to elevate your leg as much as possible. That's what I did and my achilles feels great. But I still haven't attempted a run yet and I will wait till Thursday and do another day of cross-training.

The power of prayer and having faith is really the biggest key.
