Worked till 3am this morning and slept till almost 10am and then got up and ran 17.3 miles at an overall 7:06 pace in 2:02.  I mixed in fast miles with slow miles but nothing extremely fast.  I was still real tired from the workload and not enough sleep.  It was hot at already 70 degrees when I started at almost 11am.  I really kept it nice and easy and was really only planning on doing 11 miles but sometimes with the available time and not having to work today I stretched it out.

Evening:

Ran  tonight for the newspaper to celebrate the 10th year of the Pocatello Marathon.  I really didn't want the exposure but the editor and photographer begged me to do it.  That it was a big deal to have me in the story since it's the 10th year of the marathon.  I mentioned they should have Bill Mandler do it, because he's ran the marathon more than me.  I did wear my St. George/Fast running blog singlet for the photo's to get the exposure.

I really didn't want any interviews this year.  I wanted to stay low key because I might not even run the race and go camping instead.  But most likely now I will run it.  I just want to Praise God in my running.

Glad to see that you got a break last week and that you got a good camping trip in. Sorry to see that work hit back hard. Nice mileage and pace. Even though you still managed 7hr sleep the late-late night messes with your bodies clock and I'm impressed that you got that done.

Kory, You deserve to be the one in the paper. You are the 2-time defending champion and hold the course record. And you live here. When you won 2 years ago it broke a long string of out-of-town winners and I personally was glad to see someone from here win.

Very nice run after having to work so late. You definitely deserve the recognization after winning the marathon the last two years. Might as well win this year as well.

Kory, Saw your front page picture and article in this mornings paper. Nice.
