This morning I ran a mile with my daughter at a 9:42 pace.  She ran 1.3 miles with me.   She starts XC practice at 5pm today then has to go straight to soccer practice at 6pm.  We did a 100 stride and the ending pace was 5:38.  She did very well and as some good speed.

Then I continued my run and did the Satterfield loop and did a three mile tempo.

Mile 1: (part flat and part downhill) 5:53.  Felt pretty easy.

Mile 2 (again part flat and part downhill) 5:15.  Did feel too bad and was excited about the split

Mile 3 (flat) 5:22.  Still felt really good and not too difficult.

Ran a cool-down mile at 6:20 pace.

Overall I ran 9.21 miles at an overall 6:57 pace in 1:04.

(Asics Trainers 13  - 291  miles)

Hey Kory, saw your picture and article on the front page of the paper this morning [Idaho State Journal]. It was a nice article. You're going to kick some butt up there this weekend. I'm going to miss doing it this year after running it the last two years. It's a very well run race.

From Barry on Tue, Aug 26, 2008 at 12:28:47

I also read the article in the paper and it sounded great. I will be praying for you on Saturday.

Dave S and Barry - Thanks for your comments. I'm going to try to run a smart race and do the best I can. It will be fun and I'm anxious and looking forward to it.

Dave, why are you not running it this year?

From jtshad on Tue, Aug 26, 2008 at 15:26:29

Nice run! See you Saturday!

So, you gotta post the article on the blog, I can only read the first paragraph online.

I decided not to run because I am doing St George and was worried about recovery. I thought about doing the half though but 3 weeks ago I fell and tore my hamstring and haven't been able to hardly run since. I'm not even sure I'll be able to do St George now.

Dave S - What did the doctor say about your Hamstring as far as recovery time. Your right in taking it slow and easy.

I talked to a PT yesterday and he though it could be healed by SGM but I don't expect to do well without much training between now and then.
