This morning I ran 11.1 miles at an easy 7:24 pace in 1:22. My knee was sore running this morning which is very frustrating. I'm thinking maybe my Mizuno Precision 8 shoes are the cause of the sore knee, because it seems to be sore every other day when I run in them. Not sure if this is an issue but a good observation to keep doing. I ran over a nail this morning that I pulled out, and I was lucky because it didn't quite break the sole/pad. Little longer nail and I would have gotten an accidental shot that wasn't intended for any purpose.

Good slow run to built up those glycogen stores or teach the muscles to store glycogen on longer slower runs. Third day in a row that I wear shorts at 40 degrees. Although I did have to fight against the nasty headwind. I really need to move... I'm tired of the wind here.

(Mizuno Precision 8 - 362 miles)

Evening

Ran after work to my Grandpa's house for 2 miles 7 minute pace than after mowing his lawn I ran back to work for 2.2 at a 7 minute pace. Nice easy running and long day.  What's very interesting is my knee didn't hurt at all, maybe it's the shoes?

Now time to EAT!!

Kory,

I have found that a few certain pairs of shoes really do my knees in. For me, it's ones that don't offer support to help prevent overpronation. Maybe a new pair of shoes with better stability could help.

It looks like I am going to be heading to Twin Falls on Saturday so I don't think I'm going to be around, or I would gladly meet up with you for a run. Is your hotel on Overland road near the Edwards Cinema complex? If so, I could direct you to a couple of runs as that's not far from my house. Just let me know if you want some route information.

Hope your knee is better tomorrow.

Sure if you could give me a few routes that would be great. I ran 14 miles this morning so I would probably run 8 up in Boise.

I'm at the Overland road near the Edwards Cinema complex. Have a safe trip to Twin Falls and good luck to you in your upcoming Marathon.

Kory,

Last year I had some very bad knee pain, couldn't figure out what I had done. I took a week off, that bought me an extra half mile before the pain kicked in. Tried two weeks, that bought me a mile.

Then it occurred to me that maybe I should try different shoes. Took my shoes to the store, long story short. New shoes. Next morning running, slight pain starting out, but went away as I ran. Haven't had the pain since. I will be much more vigilant with the miles on my shoes now.

Good luck.

I hope this is the issue. Thanks for your information. Hearing other people's situations always helps.
