Long-Term Running Goals:

Worship the Lord and praying early in the mornibgs and keep doing that. Staying humble and desperate for the Lord and praying for end-time revival for America.

My Long Term goal is to just run whatever I can.

Hebrews 4:16 So let us come boldly to the throne of our gracious God. There we will receive his mercy, and we will find grace to help us when we need it most.

This morning I never got out the door till 7am, because I slept over 8 hours last night.  That sure felt good waking up this morning with that amount of sleep.  The temperature was close to 50 degrees which felt so good when I started running.

 I took the pace again nice and slow, and I didn't do any hills today other than running over the overpass which isn't very long.  I was a little sore on this run, and I think it was to do with all the hills and downhill I did yesterday and not being fully recovered yet from the marathon.

I ran 9.4 miles at an overall 7:29 pace in 1:10.  Again I'm sticking with only single runs this week.  I believe I 'm going to run the STG marathon.   I emailed the race director to see if I can get in with the new PR time that I set.  When I wasn't selected in the lottery I email them back in May and they were going to let me in by calling them and giving my credit card information.  Hopefully, they will still allow me in, if not than I will have to run the Boise "City of the Trees" marathon which I didn't enjoy last time.

Lunch:

Did  300 situps.  Three bridge planks, and two static ab holds, and 100 pushups.

 I also heard back from ST. George and they will allow me to enter the marathon.  Now I'll I need is a place to stay which all the hotels are full.  It would just be me coming up there.  Hopefully, I can get some training in from just recovering from last weeks marathon.

Glad you got into SGM again this year, don't you have a ride down?

Would you be shooting to going with the sub-2:30 guys (e.g. Jon)?

I do have a ride down I just need a place to stay. If my body recovers than I could try to shoot for a 2:30. I'm not sure if I'm ready for that pace yet though.

Question/Advice

Even though St. George is a fast course, do you think running wise and more of a benefit for fitness. Would it be better to run the Boise Marathon for a lower time than Pocatello Marathon

than running St. George because it's a harder course? What do you think?

OOPS my grammar wasn't very intelligent there. What I meant is St. George is an easier course than Boise. We all know St. George is an aided PR course. Would it be better to try to get a PR on a not so aided course like Boise's?

I am not sure that you could necessarily PR at COT this soon after Poky. Not that it is that much harder, but it is different. If you want to run COT for the convenience factor as well as to run a solid time and place fairly high or even have a shot to win it depending on who shows up (~ 2:40 could win it) go for it. If you want to really shoot for a lower PR, SGM would be the way to go if you feel up for the hills.

Glad you got in. One more behind for me to look at. We should have a good group assuming everyone comes to the line with their A game. My family is coming down with me and we are staying at a parent of a friends otherwise I would offer...

I agree with Jeff. Depends on your goal. I like the aided PRs because they feel good (Provo River 1:12) but I worry about every reaching them on a "legit" course. That being said, COME DOWN TO ST GEORGE! I'm being selfish and want to run with you again... :)

Adam - Run with me again! I'll I saw in Salt Lake City is your behind, and that was it. You blew past me like I was a stop sign.

I really hope I can get good training in and the legs recover well. I need to get some more rolling hill training in and some track work to feel confident about a 5:45 pace. I know though running in a pack will keep me motivated. I'll have to look at the course tool to get an idea per mile for the pace.

I'll just have to see about getting somewhere to stay.
