Personal:

Pride necessarily sprouts and grows; a pride that can only come from relentless kneading of unwilling flesh, painful months of grinding and burning away all that is heavy, all that is strength-sapping and useless to the body as a projectile. --John L. Parker, Jr., runner/author

15 Miles in 1:57:22 on a hot afternoon in Little Rock. Picked up H Street near my house over to Hillcrest, turning onto Lee, then Kavanaugh, down to Markham; headed east on Markham past Arkansas School for the Visually Impaired, then cut over to River Trail via Park, Garland, and Gill over the railroad tracks; ran 3+ Miles along River Trail toward Big Dam Bridge, then climbed up Overlook and wound my way through Camack Village and the Heights back to Evergreen, on which I turned west back home.

Tough, hilly run.

16 Total Miles including one-mile commute.

Wesley, Strong run. Especially going up Overlook in 96 degree weather with a dew point around 70. Dave

Rob- I'm running the 25th annual Arkansas Traveler on October 3. Hal Koerner is flying in from Oregon to try and pick off a win, so it should be fun. Plus, I haven't figured out how to run a race in the mountains (at altitude) without getting lost, so I better stick around here awhile and continue to learn more about myself and improve.

Dave- Thanks, I managed the run with only 20 oz. of Gatorade. Felt pretty good running at comfortable pace.
