AMERICAN FLYERS RACE PACERS:

Had a total blast pacing the St. George Half Marathon. Several FRBers on the team as well as Dailymile runners on here. We all busted out close to right on times and had several runners comment on our help. We have several more races planned this year. If you are interested in becoming a pacer send me a message. We were able to use Tom and Kim Lee's two condos for 14 of our runners. Thanks so much you two! What a slumber party we had! lol Oh and got to sleep 3 wide in a king bed. Dont ask dont tell. We got rained on and this course was pretty technical so definitely messed with me even though I wasnt racing it. I hit right on my time of 1:30:03 with Ken Richardson (Editor of Utah Running magazine) and Shawn Singleton. We had a blast and we pulled our group that stayed with us to mile 7 all the way! I helped a lady from Provo named Marci, and a guy from ST. George named Trevor who it was his first half ever. a 1:30? That is awesome. He talked with me the whole way like it was no big deal so Im sure he'll be in the 1:20's real soon! I think I found my niche in life, I really did enjoy it!

Walter we had a blast this weekend. Thanks a bunch for all your efforts, I'm really looking forward to being a pacer next time around. And don't worry all your secrets are safe, "what happens at the condo stays at the condo"!!

Great job Walter!! My friend Julie said she stuck with you until around mile 7 and it really helped her. She ended up running 1:28!!! You are doing a fabulous job.

Smooth, get with me and Ill use you to pace! Steve, I will most definitely use you big guy! I have Sand Hollow marathon on the same day as Riverton half marathon so i will have to rely on some help from more southern runners and may call on help to assist me to be in two places at the same time. lol

Teena, thanks for coming down and getting wet with us!

Rachelle, I ran with Julie for seven miles and told her to use the second have of the course to knock out a faster split and she ran it perfectly. I was amazed to see her make up 2 minutes in the last 6 miles! And a masters win to boot for her! We will have some fun in Boston having you two to hang out with!

Tom, Your condos are going to be the next Vegas hot spot if I go into detail! lol Too bad we couldnt all stay the next night to party it up!

Sounds super fun. Great job on getting right on pace! Both Jake and I would probably be up for pacing sometime...sounds like lots of fun!

Walter, this is just great! I am so happy that you have set up an excellent pace team for the races in Utah. I'm a little jealous that I didn't get to run with you. My goal is still a 1:30 half, and I bet I could have done it with you pacing.

From Walter on Sun, Jan 22, 2012 at 23:02:18 from 24.2.69.110

Andrea, add me on Facebook Walter Brown or look for American Flyers Race Pacers on FB and ask for an invite or send me your info on a message and I'll make sure you're in the loop. We have Moab half, Riverton half, top of Utah half, AF half, Sand hollow marathon and possibly mesquite full and half late fall plus others that I've talked with to do.

From Walter on Sun, Jan 22, 2012 at 23:05:46 from 24.2.69.110

Becca, you better believe I would've helped you! It was fun. Maybe I should try getting some races by you and you can round up the troops your way!
