Bonneville Shoreline Trail. Today I ran up passed the radio towers then headed north. I came down a little known ridgeline trail that I don't know the name of. It met up with the Wild Rose Trail, which I ran down and made my way back to my car on the roads. It was a great loop for a Monday morning.

This morning I ran the Sessions Mountain Trail across from the Bountiful Temple. For those unfamiliar with this trail, it is an uphill grind. The average elevation gain is 19%. The hill was slow and the snow didn't help either. I made it up 1.5 miles before it was too deep and I turned around. When I got back down, I had some time left so I ran up Hobrook Canyon 1 mile. After running up the mountain, the canyon seemed like an easy run. Total elevation gain for the run was 2541 ft.

Bonneville Shoreline Trail. I slept in again and only had time for a short run.

I ran the Bonneville Shoreline trail up to the radio towers and the dropped down into City Creek. I went up City Creek Canyon for a few miles. As I was heading up I saw an entire herd of elk about 250 yards above me on the hillside. I counted ten of them but I think there were more that I couldn't see because of the scrub oak. I see deer almost every day, but it is not very often that I see elk. I have never seen that many that close before. It was super cool.

The run today was good. Parts of the trails were snow covered and I had to make fresh tracks. Most of it was only a few inches deep, but it got up to eight inches deep in a few spots.
