As the sun went down it was still 90 with a heat index of 116. This didn't change much in the short time I ran. |

It was much cooler today (80 or so) with low humidity. The run today felt nice. I have had (to use a euphemism) some pesky body cleansing since Saturday. I don't know if it was something I ate or if it was just post-vacation illness, but it finally stopped today. I always hesitate to get personal on the blog, but I've been feeling down lately. I'm still trying to get pregnant, but it hasn't happened yet. May was the first month we resumed our quest and I didn't do anything drastically different with running. After going to the doctor, June was an experiment in running less in duration. July was still low miles and slower speed. Especially this month, that egg didn't stand a chance (gross, sorry), so now I'm assuming that I'm still not ovulating. I had no difficulties getting pregnant with Caleb or Eli. I was running when they were conceived, but not as many miles per week and I think maybe 4-5 days.
This month I'll run less frequently and see, maybe 3-4 days. I have been playing phone tag with my doctor the past few days. Now I'm just worried that there is something wrong, I guess.

Ran an early morning 4 since the day will be busy. Lots of cleaning because we will be having weekend guests. My hubby turned 40 yesterday! Here's an entertaining blog: http://www.zefrank.com/youngmenowme/blog/

An easy 5 with my friend Colleen in the early morning. She humored me by staying with me at about a 9:45 pace and then ran an additional 5 much, much faster. I'm jealous... Then we went to breakfast afterward. Oh and I found out that pretty much everyone in her family had diarrhea after vacation too. Her dad was really sick, I guess. We all ate pizza together on Friday, so that solves the mystery.

| It was a scorcher today. I waited till dark and then went out. It wasn't too bad by then. We are in the process of getting new floors in 3 rooms, the upstairs hallway and the stairs. The two rooms downstairs are done and they look gorgeous!!! I can't wait till it's all finished so we can go back to normal. |

| We're under a heat advisory, but are supposed to get a cold(er) front moving through Sunday or Monday. I ran when the sun went down.
Ran 4 by myself and then .35 slower with my kids and my nephew. This has been a busy week of getting my classroom ready, working on some projects, and living out of 2 rooms because the floors in our house are not quite done yet. Our guy had the wrong transition pieces, so he finished what he could until they come in today (which is now Friday by the time I'm actually logging this run). Life is almost back to normal!

| Waited till it was getting dark to run again. It was a hot one.
Ran with the kids .43 miles to my ex-SIL's (this was very slow). Then I ran a little over 3 on my own. About a mile into the run as a whole, I looked to the west and noticed some ominous clouds. The temperature dropped and the wind picked up. I just decided that I would keep running, but if I saw lightning, I planned to seek some refuge. It started raining a couple minutes later. When I ran up to the ex-SIL's house, the kids were outside watching the storm roll in. Turns out they were worried, just a little bit. We visited awhile till the rain subsided, then ran slowly back home (by that time it was 9:30).

| Is it sad that I can't remember if I ran on Saturday or not? This is back to school week, and it has already brought some stress. However, I think it is going to be a good year. It was only slightly cooler (mid 80s) for the run today (I ran before dinner, just so I can get some work done this evening), but not a lot of humidity, so it was not bad. Just an easy 4. Yesterday I was walking into Walmart and made eye contact with a guy walking out the door. When I was getting my cart, I heard him ask me a question, but couldn't hear what he was asking because of the blowers over the entrance doors, so I had to turn around. He asked me if I run, and when I said yes, he said he could tell because of my legs. At least I think that's what he said, because it was loud in that area. Sounds like it was a creepy exchange, but it was really more awkward than anything else. He wasn't trying to flirt or anything. He was very sincere. So I just smiled and walked into the store. But at least I look like a runner, anyway.

| Joined the early morning club. Ran really slow... Today was Caleb's first day of kindergarten! Maybe I'll post a picture of him in his uniform if I think about it :)

| Just realized that I started my blogging on Monday when my first run this week was Sunday. I'm so used to leaving that day blank. Anyway, this is really Wed's run. I ran a little over 3 miles and met the fam at Dairy Queen. Nothing like running for ice cream...

| Witnessed a near collision between a dog and a car. The dog would have lost. Guess who the dog was chasing?

| Easy pm running. Originally planned on am, but I ran Sunday evening, and my body complained when the alarm went off. |

| I have not missed XC at all. In fact, I have secretly celebrated my decision every day that I have walked out of school and XC is in the throes of practice. BUT I did get a little teary-eyed when a runner came to my room between classes and handed the 1.5 foot high wooden XC sign with my name painted on it. He thought I'd like to have mine before they got ready to paint over last year's athletes with the current crop. He was right.
