Nestle 5K (3.107 Miles) 00:25:28, Place overall: 185, Place in age division: 2 | |
again the Springville / Nestle 5k was a really competive fun run. This was my first race of the season and I'm building up for the Huntsville Utah Marathon in September and this race was a shakedown to see if I will be worth my weight in the marathon. Todays numbers have me feeling pretty good about my training going forward and my chances of getting a double year BQ at the "Full Monte"!
Race time: 25:28, Pace 8.15, 65 to 69 Division Place: 2nd.

| | 5 mi on the PRT, 800x1@3:25, 63*, no breeze, and the sun was up. I started this run off to be an easy rest day jog but I soon decided that I needed to start my Yassos. So, I did one and was I happy with my first yasso. As I marked off the yasso distance and turned around and startred my sprint back to the trailhead I ran through a HS track class. As I passed a bunch of them, one of them shouted out, "Look at that old guy go"! That felt pretty good but I know that with 78 days till the Full Monte I know that I have a lot of work ahead of me to be ready to get a decent "BQ" out of this Old Guy!!!!
