Continue running as often as I can, as far as I can, as fast as I can. Teaching my kids (by example) the rewards that come from putting in the work. Very slowly get to 50 states.

Personal:

I'm married, with two sons, 18, and 19.

I started running because someone dared me to.

I ran my first race 3 days after my 40th birthday. (Disney)

7.75 miles. hood route to legacy trail over SWOM bridge and back. 7 am start. slog. hot humid, etc. I'm sore, but I don't think its from the new shoes. I spent the day working on a boat trailer with boy #1. there was a lot of lifting and such.

7.5 miles. hood route to legacy trail and back. 5:45 am start. hot, humid, blah, blah, blah. The big difference today is that I timed the run. 32:31 1st half - 8:40 pace. 31:24 2nd half - 8:23 pace. All in 1:03:55 - 8:31 pace. okay. 

6:30 pm. 0.5 up, (1) x 0.15 mile hill (bridge, we don't have hills here) sprints, jog down. 0.5 down. I ran the first 2 too fast. Most of them @ 56 seconds. 6:13 pace. 

Then an hour and a half of basketball with Johnny. He was really knocking the shots down. It's really cool to watch your kid improve. His confidence is building.

5.5 miles. Hood Route. 5:50 am start. 75 deg. 97% hum. 76 d.p. Left Quad is still beat up from basketball last night.  We were going after a rebound. Johnny's knee went straight into the outside of my thigh.

3.5 miles. hood route. did not feel well this morning. many bathroom visits before heading out. also, my job has been trying to keep me from running the last couple of weeks. so, physically and mentally out of it this morning. I still ran it, so, that's..... something?
