Short-Term Running Goals:

2023 GOALS:

Coastal Delaware Running Festival Marathon - 4/16/23 - Rehoboth Beach, Delaware

Long-Term Running Goals:

Continue running as often as I can, as far as I can, as fast as I can. Teaching my kids (by example) the rewards that come from putting in the work. Very slowly get to 50 states.

Personal:

I'm married, with two sons, 17, and 18.

I started running because someone dared me to.

I ran my first race 3 days after my 40th birthday. (Disney)

3.5 miles. hood route. 6:30 am start.

I can't wait until after Easter, when all of the snowbirds leave. I am so tired of instructing these folks that they have the right of way. Look, it's dark, you have tinted windows, I can't see you, and I get that you want to show me that you see me, but this process works a lot better, if everybody just obeys the rules of the road. When you stop in the middle of a 45 mph road to give me room to cross a very small diveway, you are putting yourself in real danger. I don't run with any distractions. I am looking for you. You have the right of way. Just go. You can brag to your friends about what a safe driver you are some other day.

Some of my snowbirds have come home already. A little early, as they are shocked by the snow still on the ground.

On the driving side of things, at least in these parts, drivers are anything but careful. Running on the roads is a high risk activity.

Running on the roads is a high risk activity everywhere! Run facing traffic and expect the worst out of them and be prepared to out think them, that is if they are thinking!

I run on sidewalks, against the traffic flow. So when a car is coming towards me, with his right blinker on to turn into a driveway, that I am about to cross, I stop and let him go. If he stops and flashes his high beams at me and waves me across, he's an idiot.
