Have a great Thanksgiving everyone!!
The race didn't go very well. I went out at 1:20 pace and really felt bad from the start. My big worry, my left leg, felt ok it turned out. I was on pace through 5 but I really wanted to stop running after 2. I couldn't do that so I just kept getting slower and slower and slower. I came in at 39:xx for the 10K split and things got worse from there. I don't know what the deal was. I felt good the week before and on Monday. I took Tues and Wed. off for my leg issue but that shouldn't affected me to much. For most of the race, the air was very thick with humidity, 95% and foggy, which I don't deal with very well. Maybe that had something to do with it. Either way, I'll not worry too much about it. The new course this year was pretty good. They ran us on a loop course starting and finishing at Turner Field. It hit most of the neighborhoods in the Atlanta downtown/midtown area. There were some flat areas and some hilly areas that made it an honest challenge but not horribly so.
Despite the bad race for me, the day was really fun. My family met me afterward and we watched a lot of the people finishing while we waited for my sis-in-law to finish. The weather turned out to be perfect, low 70's and sunny so it was really nice to just sit and watch. Afterward we headed to sis-in-laws place for Thanksgiving feasting and football watching.
