Good cardio Tim! I had a minor stress fracture in my foot about a year & a half ago, it completely sidelined me for about 2-1/2 months! I hope your healing is progressing. Even when I started back I could feel a little discomfort, so I really eased into it, until it went away. I would wrap mine with an ace bandage, both before any exorcise & at night, I think the compression helped with the heeling. Unfortunately, there is not much you can do other than rest to heal it.

JG - did you get a boot or just wait it out and do the wrapping? I haven't gone to the doc and I'm kind of wondering if I spent this time off for no good. For the most part it feels normal. Not sure when to try it again. I'm nervous trying it will cause more damage...

Tim, I got an x-ray after about 3 weeks, and the Dr. said there was no stress fracture, but I don't believe him, after 6 weeks of no activity I still could not run without pain! No boot, but I did wrap with an ace bandage almost from Day One ... don't know if it helped healing, but the pain seemed worse when it wasn't wrapped. I would wrap it & try running a mile, then maybe 2 ... just take it slow & easy! I think you have been wise to rest it, it's the only way it will fully heal!

Thanks a lot. That helps. This is the longest I've had to take off running since I started and I guess I'm nervous about the whole thing.
At least I have enjoyed biking more than ever. I might even try to find a group ride one of these weeks. Although I would have to buy a helmet and some riding shorts....

Biking is a great way to mix it up ... I don't do it as much as I should - but I did get talked into a Century ride last fall & actually enjoyed it. We should get together some Saturday & do a bike/run together! I have a helmet, but leave the shorts to the cycling gurus! lol

when I get this foot fixed we should meet up at silver comet trail or something like that for a brick workout.
I don't know how these triathletes do it. I could barely walk after getting off the bike yesterday.

Sounds like a plan! Yeah, a friend of mine actually nailed a 10k pr at the end of a triathlon! Go figure!!

Glad you are being so careful!
How many weeks has it been now?

HI Teena - yeah I'm trying to be good and make sure it is healed up. It has been 8 weeks today.
