Going to do an easy double today just to see how things hold up.

4 @ lunchtime @ 7:36 ave pace  Felt really pretty good

5.5 @ before dinner 7:43 ave pace -these paces today feel pretty good but slower than I think they feel.  I guess I need to readjust my gauge.   Things are feeling good today.  I actually enjoyed the double.

Give it a few weeks mileage buildup and a little cooler temps & you'll start feeling like you want to! Nice double. Are you going to do the ATC 5/10 miler 9/24? Is that a hilly loop? I plan on doing it and may do the 10k Sizzler on Monday.

Hey JG - Yeah I am planning on doing the 5/10. I've done it on this course the last two years and I don't consider it very hilly. There are a few but nothing crazy or long. There are also some pretty flat areas so it is very run-able (it is my 10M PR course). The 2nd loop, for the 10, is pretty lonely if you are in the front of the pack so you really have to stay in it mentally. I've done the 10 the last two years, but probably will do the 5 this year due to my fitness level.

Thx Tim, timing is good for a 10 miler for me, 1 month before my marathon. Look fwd to seeing you out there!

you should rock that race by then - shoot for something like a 60 min 10 miler..

Thx Tim, if I ran a 60 minute 10 miler, I think I would put myself on a pedestal & retire! What was your time last year? I am not there yet, but will see what I can do ... 6 minute miles wipe me out! It will be interesting to see where I am at Monday, I would like to get my PR under 40, which is a 6:25 pace. I am doing the Sizzler, which is reasonably flat, Chamblee Marta station to Lenox on Peachtree Rd.

hey after this next few weeks of training, you might surprise yourself. I did a 60:12 lat year. 59:09 the prior year

Good luck on Monday!! Go get that sub 40. That is definitely do-able on that route. It ends nicely for sure.
