15 beautiful winter white miles :)

Matt and Brooke talked me into running on the JRP this morning in the bittercold!!! I am so so so happy they did. After a trip to home-depot and some how-to info I found on youtube last night I successfully transformed an old pair of running shoes into ice/snow running shoes. They worked PERFECTLY!!! It was absolutely stunning outside, so peaceful.

Only saw 2 other runs the whole time. Yes, it was cold, but beyond beautiful!! Well worth it!

LOVED EVERY SECOND!!!

HAPPY THANKSGIVING ALL!!! :) :) :)

Great job, but you make me feel like a wimp running on my TM this morning for only 5 miles. Keep it up!

Screws in your shoes are better than in your head. Happy Thanksgiving.

Wooooo Hoooooo! You discovered the joy of cold weather, winter running. :)

So how cold was it? It was only 25 in St George but I saw some knuckle head kid running in shorts and a long sleeve shirt, no gloves, no hat. His buddy had some sweat like pants but no hat or gloves. ??????

Screwed shoes work great and if you are dressed for it, the cold is not a problem. How was your breathing in the cold? No asthma problems?

I so love the quiet of winter running, but it is just way too cold! You are crazy!

Hope you had a great Thanksgiving.

Sound like a great time! You totally could eat guilt free!

Winter running is the best!

I love the winter runs too... I have tried the screws and they do work well. I recently purchased the Yaktrax. Great product for 28 dollars. Just FYI. Be safe this winter!

I'm impressed that you found enough time to run that far on Thanksgiving.

Ummm!!! Your miles this week!!!! Didn't you say you were going to take it easy? Famous last words? Ha! :D

So happy you got to run on a beautiful Thanksgiving day w/ friends and conquered the ice/snow!!! Love and miss you!

Nice miles and ingenuity! It was too bitter cold for me on T-day. Do they keep the JRP plowed well during winter?

From Teena Marie on Sat, Nov 27, 2010 at 23:56:19 from 67.2.89.224

Thanks all!!!! :)

Fly~ If I am remembering right, it was 5 degrees when we started. But it was sunny!! I think that made all the difference! :) :) :)

Rye~ AWESOME to hear from you!!! :)

SSF~ I felt like I did take it easier this week since a lot of my miles were slow. Really! :) :) :) Miss you so much! :)

Rachel~ Murray usually keeps their portions of the trai well plowed. With it being the holiday there was snow and ice everywhere. The screws in the shoes worked like a charm. I loved it! :)
