(I realize those are some pretty weird distances ... but they were intentional: 3/4th the distance of an olympic tri - substituting the running miles for elliptical miles.)

** The great thing about being injured is having time to do all the other sports that I love, esp. swimming. I love how it shocks my body a bit and I feel more in shape overall. Don't get me wrong, I love and miss running ... but I love this as well. If I weren't so afraid of being hit by a car and being permanently injured I think I would love to get into triathlons. BUT ... after volunteering at a clinic that specializes in spinal injuries I don't seem to be able to get past that fear. :(

AWESOME JOB on the *trial run* of 3/4 Olympic Tri. You are doing so so so well with all these great sports. You are a true athlete. :) :) :)

WAY to get all that sports in with your busy busy schedule! Hope you're enjoying your weekend. Love and miss you! :)

SSF~

When are you going to take those swimming lessons??? :)

Another nice thing about being injured and this time of year is that I am not seriously training for anything and hence don't feel the need to get in x-amount of miles, etc. It has been wonderful to take it down a notch and just enjoy it with zero pressure. My total time exercising has gone down, but my satisfaction in it has gone up. Weird! I suppose it is just a better balance while I am in school. :)

I miss and love you!

Teena, Sorry to hear about the stress fracture. I don't know how I missed that. I agree that cross training can be fun and a nice change from running. I too have felt like I am getting in better overall shape but partly at the expense of my running fitness.

If you like those Spartan races a triathlon would be a breeze. I hope you have a speedy recovery.
