I took everything easy today since I am going to do the entire swim and biking sections of the XTERRA tomorrow with Ashton and Jeff. They both have done the race before and are much better mountain bikers than I am. I just went and picked up a wet suit rental. This will be my first open water swim and I am sincerely very nervous. I also bought a tri-top and some biking shorts so that I will at least somewhat look the part if all else fails. But why in the world are tri-clothes so stinkin' expensive!!?? Lame.

I LOVE THE OLYMPICS!!!!! :) :) :)

Side note: There is this man in my neighborhood who is in his late 80s. Sophia (my 10 year old) and I usually go visit him about once a week to visit and help him with some neck pain. Anyway ... I missed last week. I now have a message on my home phone that says this: "Teena, will you tell me what time you will be on TV? I have been telling all of my friends that you are in the Olympics." He was DEAD serious!!! I need to go and refresh his memory. I once told him about Allie working towards an Olympic Trials Qualifying time. He must somehow have gotten that mixed up with me being in the Olympics. SO STINKIN' CUTE!!!! I love him!!!!

Yes, keep me updated on your olympic appearance as well. I'll definitely tune in at that time.

I think maybe you ARE in the Olympics :)

Enjoy the swim and bike tomorrow. It is different, but with a couple other people there you'll be fine. I think you'll enjoy it! Putting your head in the mucky water and getting used to the tight wet suit on your lungs is the hardest, but about 50M into the swim you'll get into the flow of it all...and love it! Getting the wet suit on and off is the fun part :)

Oh, and I'm with you on tri clothes!! What the heck?!? I mean it is $150-$180 easy for just ONE outfit. I have to use my shorts sparingly and only on my longest ride of the week. I can only afford one outfit!

This is all very interesting and exciting stuff! Good luck tomorrow! Sounds like you have the right equipments and escorts and all.

I am glad that you have a seniors fan club...the Olympics only comes around every 4 years...you'd better not disappoint them! :)

hahaha. we were just talking about this on our run yesterday, because someone asked jake why he wasn't at the olympics. we were talking about how any mention of "olympic trials" means "olympics" to a lot of people. :)

best of luck tomorrow. have fun.

T NA NA, the price of Tri stuff is a joke, they have a corner on the market, a good place to look is swimoutlet on the internet, they will have closeout sales at times, especially in the fall.

Pearl Izumi in Park City sometimes has things on sale. Good luck tomorrow, if you start to panic in the water, rollover on you back and catch your breath. Open water is different. Also, practice siting tommorrow, ask you buddies on how they site in open water.

Good luck, you will be fine and have some good stories to tell after the XT.
