Not happy, not sad, not thrilled, not mad, just kind of ...ish. :)

I have not run a 10K since the D-News 10K in 2009. It showed. I never could find my rhythm and at times pushed too hard and at other times didn't push hard enough. Although this is my 10K PR I am not satisfied and hence will have to run another one at some time. Hands down the funnest part of this race was running back to get Ry and then run with him to his finish. He told me in the beginning that he was not going to race it but just enjoy himself. It was so nice having him there with me. :)

Absolutely wonderful fun day which included running extra miles with Rachel, 9 holes of golf with Ry and then dinner with Brooke, James, Matt, KristyAnn, and Ry.:)

**Thanks Rachel for being my rabbit (couldn't catch you though), Matt for the piece of humble pie and Brooke for being so dang cute and cool! You all did AWESOME!!!

Hooray for a PR! How fun to have your hubby running!

From Rob Murphy on Sat, Mar 19, 2011 at 22:11:12 from 24.10.248.6

That's right - I thought you pretty much just ran marathons.

This was a fine race for you. Shaking the cobwebs out after Winter. You have to start somewhare right?

From Smooth on Sat, Mar 19, 2011 at 22:11:20 from 67.2.72.18

Congratulations on the PR!!!

Great attitude, SSF!!! spectrum is tough to get in the groove, the trail is rolling, the neighborhood has lots of turns! with that said, I am very proud of your effort! Yup, not satisfied with the PR just means you have to run another one! :)

SO happy you are enjoying yourself in SG.

Time spent with friends are definitely precious! Love you!!!

Nice work super woman!

Toby~

I absolutely LOVE it when I get to run with Ry. For some small reason I think he is going to begin running more. Oh, I hope I hope I hope. :) :) :)

Rob~

Yep, have only run a few 10Ks and never an official 5K. I feel very inadequate at these distances. Can't decide whether I want to do more of them and try and figure them out, or avoid them at all costs! Thoughts?

SSF~

I definitely missed not having you here today. There are very few races that I have run that you have not been there. In fact, I don't know that there has ever been a race in SG that I have run where you haven't been here. Thank you so much for all the sweet texts. I love you!

Lily~

Thanks!! I am sure that you would have killed the course! :) :) :) How is your back? Heading to your blog right now.

From Tom Slick on Sat, Mar 19, 2011 at 22:29:08 from 69.171.160.190

good job girly girl...great job switching from long to short distance racing....it's a Bear! Doesn't running this race get you into the St. George Marathon? Good to hear Ry is out pounding the pavement.

PPPPPP!

Plan "your" race - Race "your" Plan!

From RAD on Sat, Mar 19, 2011 at 22:40:39 from 208.88.9.225

Teena, I thought for sure that after I left you that you would surge back on those 'hills' (afterward, not so much) and I'd be catching you! Sorry that you weren't able to find a groove, I just hate 10K's or less. I feel like you have to run scared the whole time! However, you should feel VERY proud of your amazing time. A PR is a PR - remember it's you v you and YOU win! :) Long live the 7's! Sorry we didn't join y'all for dinner, since we had pizza last night I'd promised my hubby Mexican tonight.

From Smooth on Sat, Mar 19, 2011 at 22:43:05 from 67.2.72.18

SSF ~ I didn't realize that I was at almost all of your races in SG! No wonder you had an *ish* race! LOL. Dang I should have been there! But I was there in spirit! Kelli can attest to the times when I was looking at my watch and rooting for you out loud on my run today! I missed you LOTS today!!! LLL LLL LLL LLL. Again, I am very proud of your performance! Your best is yet to come!

From Kathie on Sat, Mar 19, 2011 at 23:27:24 from 97.126.209.130

Nice time, you should be proud! You have to remember you are a marathon runner running a 10K this was not the race you trained for.

From watchmerun on Sun, Mar 20, 2011 at 00:40:51 from 74.211.23.199

Well, I'm sure I'll soon be able to eat my own slice of humble pie. Looking forward to Ogden!

Slick~

Thanks!!! Did you run Moab? Heading to your blog to check!!!! :)

Rachel~

I kept hoping that I would be able to surge to catch you ... but dang you girl, you were running too fast!!!! :) :) :)

SSF~

In fact, I think that this is the only SG race that you have not been at with me. Even before we met you were at all the races I was. Hmmm ... next time I am kidnapping you!!!! I love you and need my SSF!!!! :) :) :)

Kathie~

Thanks!!! I just love you and can't wait to see your new hairdo!!! :) :) :)

Matt~

I think you are going to be dishing out the pie for quite a while!!! That super fast high school boy within you is making his comeback! :) :) :)

If you're in SLC next weekend come run our 5K. Running of the Leopards 5K.

From Bonnie on Sun, Mar 20, 2011 at 19:54:24 from 64.119.33.134

10Ks are super tough Teena, I think you did GREAT! Congratulations and biggest of hugs to you for your awesome race.

T NA NA, 300 commando points for the PR, very sweet race.

From Andy on Sun, Mar 20, 2011 at 22:41:53 from 174.52.172.236

I hate 10k's! They hurt as much as a 5k but last twice as long. Sounds like it was a great trip regardless of how the race turned out. And you fulfilled your runner's series requirement which was most important.

From Mike Warren on Sun, Mar 20, 2011 at 23:31:01 from 74.211.2.89

Great race! A PR, come on you should be thrilled!! I did not realize you were doing Spectrum or I would of tried to find you to say hello. You just keep improving every year. Outstanding!! you should be proud!

From JulieC on Mon, Mar 21, 2011 at 10:30:26 from 71.35.248.116

TEENA, great race for your first 10k of the season!! A PR, yippee. : D.

From Teena Marie on Mon, Mar 21, 2011 at 14:19:07 from 74.211.26.22

Bill,

I would LOVE to come run your race, it looks awesome! Sadly, we have plans that day. :(

Bonnie,

Thanks for the biggest of hugs!!! Yeah, as of yet I am not a fan of 10Ks. :)

Brent,

Loving the commando points. Thanks! :)

Andy,

Runners series done!!! Mission accomplished!!! Can NOT believe the wind you had for your race. Crazy!!!

Mike,

You are too nice. I thought I could do just a tad better, so was not thrilled with the results. However, I am sure the results are accurate and a true measure of my 10K fitness level. I need to work on that distance for sure! (Wish I would have known that you were running this.)

Julie,

Thanks for the yipees!!! You are the best! :)

From Rhett on Mon, Mar 21, 2011 at 18:41:24 from 74.36.33.52

Anytime you run a PR and don't feel like you ever got into a good rhythm, you should be thrilled.

From fly on the Wall on Mon, Mar 21, 2011 at 18:58:08 from 204.113.19.47

"just kind of ...ish. :)"

This was your fastest finish. So don’t impoverish, diminish, or extinguish but rather cherish, embellish, and lavish what you accomplish. You did not languish and were not sluggish, so banish and extinguish any anguish. That said, perhaps you need to polish and nourish your 10k flourish in order to replenish your racing relish.

Sorry I don’t wish to admonish. I’m just full of rubbish and now I will vanish.

From Teena Marie on Mon, Mar 21, 2011 at 23:08:53 from 74.211.26.22

Rhett~

I don't know, I think I lack the thrill simply because I did not find a rhythm. BUT I read an article in an old RW today that would have been beneficial to me had I read it when it came out!!! Better late than never, right? :) :) :)

Fly~

I have read your comment three times now! It is AWESOME and makes me laugh! :) :) :)
