Speedwork day.

1 mile warmup then:

Yassos w/400 meters jog in between each one

6 @ 3:30

3 @ 3:20

1 @ 3:15

Then 2.75 mile cooldown.

**First 5 felt great, 6&7 felt tough, 8&9 really tough, and 10 dang tough. Really tried to concentrate on running relaxed, but that was very hard to do at the end. :)

Time to hit the books.

But you have to realize that my 400 recovery jogs were very slow (around an 11 minute pace). And aren't you suppose to do yassos with only a 200 meter recovery jog? I really don't know what I am doing.

The recovery interval is debatable. Some say to do 1/2 the distance, some say to run 1/2 to equal the time of your 800's time. Who knows. I think you're doing it right. I usually go out too fast on my first 800, then die in the middle and have to hang on with dear life the last interval. Yes, I just got your email.

So far, Maynard shows interest in coming. I'm thinking start the run at 8am? Not sure what everyone's schedule is. I have a 15 miler and need to be done by 11am. Steven needs the car for violin around noon. Hope you can make it! LOVE YOU!

Nice work! I do not know if i have ever done a Yasso??? BUT I can tell those are super-de-duperty fast for a half of a mile!!!

Like Andy said and I said the other day, you're set to run a much faster marathon than you are planning. I think you are doing the Yasso's right with a 400 m recovery jog. And was the last one the 3:15 and the 7th-9th 3:20? Normally you do them all at the same pace. I bet you could have done them all around 3:20. You are a ROCKSTAR!!!! :)

Kelli, Kathie, and Vinh -- Thanks!!! I am trying hard. :)

Andy, Lyman and Rhett -- You all are very nice and have much more confidence in me than I do at this point. I am really giving it my best effort and would truly be ecstatic to run a sub 3:30. My biggest concern right now is to continue training while avoiding injury. I think the 3.5 running days a week should hopefully help with that.

Julie -- We all know that YOU, my dear, are the machine!!! :)
