I am so glad you are getting a well deserved rest and vaca! okay, not much rest with all the 'fun', but stress rest :) Love the posts and thanks for sharing the pics! I'd be crying if I fell down in my clips on a trail like that!!

Rachel~

I am having so so so much fun. I need to adjust one of my cleats this morning though because my knee started aching last night. The funny thing about my wipe outs is that I only seem to fall going uphill when it is too steep or I misjudging my timing when trying to lift my front tire over some obstacle. The path we were on in the picture has a long steady up climb with a bunch of ledge like rocks on it. SO SO SO FUN!!! I am totally addicted. :) :) :) How are you feeling? How is your toe?

Is that a skull and crossbones on your helmet??

From Scott Wesemann on Wed, Jan 04, 2012 at 12:38:45 from 205.158.160.209

Awesome! Red Rocks is incredible. You should take a hike up to Turtlehead Peak if you get a chance.

Andrea~

Looks like it. It's actually my daughter's helmet (if I remember right, it was the only one that fit her when we bought it at Sports Authority a couple of years back). It fits me great!!! :) BUT ... if you tell me that it is symbolic of something bad then I will have to get rid of it. So ... is it??

Scott~

I will have to look that up. :) Not sure that we will be able to hit it this time around though. Ry is still asleep, but when he wakes up it will be GO GO GO time. More mtb'ing, running and golfing today, and then Phantom tonight. :)

When I was watching the xterra championships in maui I could NOT believe the trails they were on - I'd just get out and walk my bike. I wouldn't have even tried to ride up them! So, I can see how you could biff it on the uphills - that trail looks a little too daunting to me. I LOVE to hike, but trail running and mtn biking scare me - a lot! I'll stick to the road with running and biking :) Metatarsal is doing better, hobbling around after a shower and to go to the bathroom in the middle of the night (without boot) is getting easier. I still wouldn't be able to forget it though! 6 days to new x-rays and hopefully good news about healing!

Sounds like a blast! I think I need to get down there for some R&R. Turtlehead is pretty easy and has great views of the city.

T NA NA - Mtn bike rasberries and all, what are those two bike helmets doing? Breaking in those darn cleats hey? Only a few scabs, great work.
