This was my first 5K in a long time. I think the last one was the Rex Lee Run about 5 years ago. I wasn't feeling great this morning, but the race went fairly well. The first mile was in 6:13, the second mile about 5:55 (downhill), and the third mile about 6:30. Overall pace was 6:10. I finished a little faster. It was hard to get myself in a good rhythm during the race. When someone would pass me, I could follow their rhythm for awhile, but I couldn't keep it. I think I need to do more speedwork.

that's a great time on a tough course with a lot of amateur runners to get in your way. I hear the 10K was kind of a disaster. I chose well in staying here in Logan. keep up the good work!!

Way to go! Piccolo!

Thanks, guys! I think it would have been about 19:15 if the course was actually a 5K. But I wish I had run faster regardless. The men's 10K winner ran 28 something minutes, so either he's superhuman or the course was way short.

From reading the other race reports, it was definitely short.

Nice job! Too bad about the course length.

Nice pace overall. That third mile can be so tough. Sorry your course was long, you would have had a nice 5k time.

Thanks, Michelle. I heard them announce your name at the awards ceremony as the winner, and I thought your name sounded familiar, but it didn't connect in my head that I knew you from the blog. Congrats on your win!
