Another great run with the the guys Dave, Bill and my imaginary pacer Frank. Met at the store and went up the SG Marathon course to Brookside.  Took the first 10 easy then picked it up the second half. Dropped it down to a 6 min average for the last ten.  I can tell my strength and speed are really starting to come back.  I need to work on leg turn over however. It will come with time. Dave was rockin it considering he just got done being sick with pneumonia. I'm excited to see how he will perform at the SL Marathon.

I don't know what was going on with my heart last night but I felt great after getting warmed-up this morning.

Good run Steve, sounds like you guys had a good time. My calf was really bothering me yesterday and I'm afraid I may have been trying to come back too soon. So I'm going to take a few more days off. I got your message about the jogging stroller, we'll get with you sometime and figure something else out thanks.

Sorry about you calf. Give April and call and have her work on it:

Great job this week on the running. Damon Cox told me he was going to start running with you guys, has he been out yet?

Today when I finished the Strider's Half I was very disappointed that no one put a medal over my neck for finishing! I thought every half marathon did that. I had only ran Painter's up until today. As I was complaining, the other blogger dudes were saying that Painter's is one of the few who give medals and that is because of you! Thank you so much for all you do for the races down there! It really means a lot to get that around your neck! I was quite bummed out!

Glad your heart evened out - maybe still get a quick check up. But awesome run today - not only did you drag me along (thanks big time), but you looked very strong and could have held that 5:40-5:50 if I wasn't slowing you down.

Great run, Steve! You are really running strong...way to run 10M at a 6min pace.

Hey, I know it is my own fault, because I didnt call or stop in, but I was bummed that nobody showed up at the track this morning. In fact, it was all locked up so I decided to drive over to the college and do something on my own. Wasn't much of a speed workout, but it was better than nothing!

Hey Kim and I are going to be in SG on Fri/Sat and are thinking of running the Run4Kids 5K(Kim) and 10K(me). Looks like a few of you guys ran it last year. Anyone doing it this year?

I checked out a couple of the race reports from last year...looks like a lot of downhill then uphill for the 10K. Is the 5K similar?

Hope we run into some of you at the race (pun intended :)).

From Steve Hooper on Tue, Apr 08, 2008 at 16:12:12

Tom - It would be great to have you down here. The 10k is down then up just like you said. I have never ran the 5K but I do know it starts on the downhill and loops around so it must come back up. I don't think it's too much of a drop however. Looking forward to seeing you at the race.

Good job getting up this morning. Sorry about that. I ended up staying up late - 2am doing some work and didn't get up. Give me a call sometime this week.

Steve
