Ran in the 2002 Hood-to-Coast Relay. Short-Term Running Goals: Get back into shape and lower my running times (5K and 10K in particular).
Run a half marathon and possibly a marathon. Long-Term Running Goals: Still be running 20+ years from now. Personal: I ran cross country and track in high school in good old Indiana and at Valparaiso University in college. I've been married for 17 years now to my beautiful wife Kathleen. | I have been running about 3-4 times per week over the past month. It has been great to get out and get back into shape.
Easy run out past Walgreens. I felt good.

| Drove to the Prairie Grass Trail, ran a 1.5 mile warmup, turned around, and did 7 x 0.1 mile strides with about the same distance resting jog in between. It felt good to run a bit faster and stretch the legs out a bit. Drove home and did another 1.8 easy miles around the neighborhood. It was pretty cool and windy, but sunny.

| The usual school loop in a time of 23:21. It was pretty warm with temps in the 60s, but it is supposed to get cooler. It was a nice, still day with little wind. I felt good.

| I tried to run between the rainshowers but got caught in a downpour. Otherwise, it was a good run on my usual school loop plus. I did 4 strides in the middle and pushed the pace a little bit in the last mile after the rain stopped. My calf tightened up after the run and still feels pretty tight now. Time was 31:12 (7:48/mile).

| I ran out past Walgreens around the housing addition and back. The legs were tight and took over a mile to loosen up a bit. My knees were hurting a little bit with more on the right leg. I need new shoes. Maybe Santa will bring me some.

| Ran out to the Lincoln Prairie Grass Trail, and then ran east to the interstate and back. I felt pretty good. My right knee was still a little sore, and my left calf was a little tight. Running on mostly sidwalks has not been kind to my legs. I tried to run on the grass or gravel along the side of the trail as much as possible, and that helped.
